SC not different from MGS

hi,
i just was wondering what game to buy for my brothers B-day, MGS 3 or SC CT...when it hit me that the games are very alike.
and i can't believe a devoted fan of SC can hate MGS since they're very much alike one another. maybe it's because of the rivalry...but whatever game he's gonna get he's gonna be happy and will grow up to hate MGS or vice versa depending on which game i buy! anyway...i think it's stupid if a SC-gamer hates MGS just becuz they're very much alike and the rivalry is fierce...i mean you can like both games, you know!
anyway, i love both of them and couldn't dream of considering one of them to be better then the other!

If you want stealth with more realistic things go SC, stealth-action and cool story go MGS. Both have good points.

It matters mostly on opinion. But yes, MGS is action orientated and the stories are good. But sc is more high tech.

I love both games, but CT is the way to go. And they are fairly different, MGS is alot more cinematic and action oriented, and not in a very realistic setting compared to SC.

Partially I think CT13 is right

In MGS you can get spotted as many times as you want, Whereas in Splinter Cell you can't get spotted more than 3 times.

However, Both games are about stealth, And how your not suppose to get spotted - So they are actually 2 the same games.

i have to totally disagree with you about MGS being the same as SC

Splinter Cell is more espionage thriller, with stealth as a key point to the action

MGS throws stealth out the window in both games after about five minutes

I don't think SC is the same at all. In my opinion the gameplay is way different. I would go for SC, but it's all up to you.

i know, i will http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif...but what happens if you get spotted three times? you die? to those who said SC is more realistic; thats not very realistic is it? you get spotted three times and you fail or die? anyway i'll stop now as i've never played the game and therefore shouldnt go barking at it!

Im PAL, so I cant get it... YET!
