How are you going to transfer your game saves over other than manually? That'll be a real b1tch.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

My guess is that you will have to buy a memory unit to transfer save files. With this announcement I would say music and movie downloads aren't to far away.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Ok, say you buy the 256MB card to use for transferring everything. my HDD has 13gigs worth of **** on it, so that means I would have to repeat the whole process FIFTY-TWO times...That's more trouble than it's worth.
Maybe they'll have some kind of utility that will allow you to back up to your network pc and transfer it back to the larger HDD.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Anything that you've purchased on XBL - ie Live Arcade games, extra content - you should be able to just re-download it, right? I don't think you would have to go through the process of manually transferring it, and you don't have to purchase it again.
The biggest pain in the ### is going to be all those Far Cry maps. Damned.
Technically, there are methods you can use to transfer data back & forth from PC to the 360. Datel has the Xchange 360 and the XSATA. Both are junk, IMHO, and quite complicated to use. I had this discussion with someone online a few weeks ago. The 360 and PC share the same network, there *should* be an easier way to transfer files back & forth. Hell, you can already stream music files from the PC, and if you have a Windows Media Center-equipped PC, you can transfer music & video files. Why not make it so you can transfer game saves and other 360 items? Does this make too much friggin common sense?<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Yeah, anything that you downloaded off of Xbox Live you can redownload on the new Hard Drive.
So, the only thing you'd have to worry about is game saves.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Very cool. I'm glad to hear that they're bringing out the bigger drive. With all the different content on the Marketplace, it's sometimes easy for people to run out of room.
As for game saves. I transfered a bunch to a memeory card, back when my first 360 went down. You guys might be in for a bit of a surprise. Some games won't allow you to transfer the save information to a memory card. Most I've seen will but, there are some odd ones that won't.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Considering that, according to GameSpot, Microsoft in the US isn't even willing to confirm its existence, I don't think we're going to know that anytime soon.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

If your 360 is linked up with your PC, couldn't you just transfer to your PC and then to the new HD? I've transferred stuff from my PC to my 360 so maybe it'll work the other way too.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

If MS wanted to be user friendly about this they would set something up where you to upload your gamesaves, exclusive content and profile information to an xdrive of sorts, then download it to your new HD.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Haha! I'm pretty sure they'll reduce the price of the 20GB, once the 100GB is out. Though I wouldn't be surprised, to see it come in around $200.00.
Damn Notebook 7200RPM SATA drives. They're not cheap for notbooks either, or all that common...yet. Actually this specific drive type was pretty new to the notebook world, when the 360 launched. Before that it was mostly ATA 5400RPM drives for notebooks.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

That will work, but if you're planing on doing anything offline just make sure that you're doing it on the same 'box that you originally downloaded the stuff on. I learned this the hard way and now all of the stuff I downloaded on my brother's 360 won't work on my 360. So this means that most of my arcade games, all the PGR3 cars, GRAW chapter 2 etc. don't work on my 360 anymore when I'm offline. When I am online there's no problem, everything works fine, but right now I don't have constant acess to the net so it kinda sucks.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

That sucks. What are you supposed to do if your 360 craps out, or for some reason you have to replace it with a new one? You have to buy all that #@%^ stuff again?
Then again, it is Microsoft we're talking about.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Well I called the xbox help line last week about it. They said that this was a normal problem and it only occurs because the content was downloaded on another box. You can fix it but you'll have to create a new gamertag, then call M$ and let them know your problem, they'll recomend you create a new gamertag, and then they'll credit that new gamertag with enough M$ points to redownload everything that you lost. You will have to provide them with a value for all the things you've downloaded, ie. total point list.
Frankly I'm just too lazy to do this.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">
