I would like for I am alive to be first person sorta like Mirrors Edge. Because it makes the game seem more legit.

I think that first person is a good direction to go here. Not Half-Life first person though, Condemned 1 and 2 first person.
Third person would also be nice. Like you hit a button and you can switch between the two.

i certainly hope it has 1st person capabilities... to toggle between the two is fine for those who prefer 3rd person. tbh it looks like a 3rd person type game tho.

This game should be third person, First person would just be a stupid idea for such a game and would turn me right off, and i have high hopes this game will be good.... IF it ever gets a release.
Don't ruin it for the decent gamers just to cater for the CoD crowd who want it FPS

Personally, I'd prefer TPS.
You know how most FPS games (stereotypically), are objective based? There's no point in setting a devastated-city theme if all we do is do missions. TPS games (again, stereotypically) allow you to free roam around the game locations. So basically, you'd be able to run around and cause havoc without the risk of time limit.
If there really is a need, make it the like Dead Rising series. You get to run around but theres still the time limit which forces you to complete the missions.

I heard somewhere that this is going to be 1st person, but perhaps whatever source I heard that from was incorrect... at least I hope so. I absolutely DESPISE 1st person games. I can't play one for more than a half hour without getting bored so I sincerely hope this will be in a 3rd person perspective otherwise it won't be more than a Gamefly rental for me if that.

1st person is a trend today and i myself am a call of duty fan but games today look like clones of each other by embracing the 1st person genre.this game should go 4 a 3rd person camera and the moments ought to be huge like that of uncharted

Meh, shooter games have been adopting the 'Call of Duty' looks ad feel. But even them not all. Just look at games like Brink (vibrant colors), Bulletstorm (unique gameplay) and Battlefield 3 (destruction and vehicles). Then you have the other 1st person games like Mirrors Edge, Driving games(Forza, Need for Speed) and Portal, among many. Overall developers can easily adopt a first person view and tell the story, present the world and offer unique gameplay fairly easily with a little creativity.

I agree, if they put some moments like uncharted into I Am Alive, it would be awesome. But this can be done in first person too. Think like Modern Warfare's 'Cliffhanger' moment, when roach jumps onto the ice slope, only to slide down it. Or perhaps, moments like in homefront, when a misfire of 'White Fox', (fiery bomb thingy, is a less official term.) accidentally lands on you and your team, forcing you to run through a maze of fires. It can be done.

point, taken but the game should also adopt its own identity since FPS' are a fast paced system putting it in a 3rd person would slow down the pace allowing you to look at your surroundngs to navigate
OR EVEN BETTER PUT 1ST & 3RD PERSON MODES OR BUTTONS SWITCH BETWEEN THEM

I think this game could work very well in third person; it feels like the kind of game that could benefit greatly from seeing your own character, just like in Uncharted. Bring on E3 2011, anyway.
EDIT: Only one post? I know i posted when i originally signed up... Odd.

For most FPS games that is true, but Deus Ex: Human Revolution proves that you can have stealth it a FPS game http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

No buttons, It should be a menu option only, using it as a shortcut through a button is annoying. But I agree if its a menu option. However. they would need to build it from a third person view up. No one likes to view character animations like in fallout in third person. They look horrible and really stiff. Then after that put in a first person view.

I think it should be third person, personally. Not because I think it'll be a rip off of CoD if it's in first person - I love first person games. It gives a much more 'immersive' feeling in the right enviroment.
However, in quick-thinking survival games like these, it's much more convenient to have Third Person.
As long as the animations and camera are styled like GTA IV (and as long as it's open-world like GTA IV), Third person shouldn't be a large problem.
If I really had the descision over it, however, I'd probably make it a menu option.
Happiness for all!

i think that I am Alive should be like fallout 3, were you can switch between first and third person but if it comes down to one or the other it needs to be third person, because quite frankly, i am alive being in first person is a tottal turn off for me and probably a lot of other people besides cod fans :/
