Hi there,
I have a problem with my sound. Even the UBI intro when starting the game hangs in some kind of loop. That would not be THAT bad... but I got the same problem when the intel lady is speaking to me ingame.
I read somewhere else, that the game is configured to use EAX. I am not sure, if this might be my problem since I am just jusing the sound card onboard my motherboard (Realtec AC'97).
Maybe I can solve my problem, if I can switch EAX off. Can anyone tell me exactly how to do this?
BTW: My drivers are all up 2 date. So that's not the probelm

Are you really sure they're up to date with the drivers released in late November?

Yes, i am sure: Graphics, sound and mainboard drivers are up 2 date.
Funny, I never had a game, where it hangs at the company intros! ^^
BTW, i noticed, it's not only the sound, but also the graphics that hangs. Seems to be a problem with playing film-squences! But I never had this problem with other games before...

If u have a nForce, install the latest nForce Audio driver instead of the Realtek's driver and install latest DirectX (redist December 2006) > http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyI...c626b&DisplayLang=en (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=77bc0499-19d0-46b6-a178-033d9e6c626b&DisplayLang=en)<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Having the latest [nforce2] audio driver DOES NOT work. Because I do, and it stutters badly.
Not quite sure about the graphics stuttering, that sounds more like you need a bit more RAM, and is probably unrelated to the sound. Remember, this game supposedly REQUIRES 1 gig of RAM.

Link to DirectX released yesterday for you.

Ah thanks, I actually went there before but didn't notice it was a 2006 redist. Intersting to find out if this works.

Okay, the new DX dist. doesn't solve anything.

I am also encountering the same problems; when I get the girl's intel feed on the HUD it lags and breaks up the voice comm. Stuttering would be the most accurate description of it. As in previous posts the Ubi soft logo also lags, and the sound stutters.
System Specs:
Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3500/2.2ghz
Memory: 2560MB RAM
DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904)
Video: NVIDIA GeForce 6800 512mb AGP8
Sound: SB Audigy 2 Audio
I'm going to check the new SB drivers to see if that clears any issues up. But everything else is up to date as of today.

Alrite, a TEMPORARY FIX for the sound stuttering on onboard sound cards (at least on my nforce2 board) is to adjust your sounds hardware acceleration to one notch above the minimum. This completely eliminated all the sound stuttering on my box, but I can't guarentee it will work for yours. Also I found if I turned the hardware acceleration all the way down the sound effects (gun shots, ricochets mostly) would loop pretty bad.
You have to restart the game for the changes to take effect; i.e. you cannot alt+tab, adjust the setting, and expect it to magically work.
