One reason could be your video card.

Ubi games have a history of not playing well with the 8800 series of cards.

Because that mission in R6 was entitled "Ghost Dance."http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Your main reason could be... VISTA

It runs fine on my copy of Vista 32-bit Ultimate.

I just have a Radeon 3850 instead of a Nvidia 8800, and an AMD X2 4600+ instead of a C2F.

Wow dude, you really should do your research before posting what you hear and not your own opinion.

I've got Windows XP SP2, as well as Windows Vista SP1 Ultimate x64

And guess what... Vegas 2 runs better on Vista.

So do your research first, and stop spitting out what other people tell you. If everyone told you that Jews were bad, does that mean YOU have to believe that? Sheesh, get to the 21st century, man.

Vista only runs better on a dis-configured xp.

now with 8gb ram, 2x geforce 9600gt's and a q6600 it runs SOOOOOOO NICE and fast... and 0 issues running any games!!!!!

people that dis vista are just plain noobs that just recently got comfortable with xp. I run ultimate x64 with dual 8800gtx's and have never had a crash from this game short of the ones everyone gets when using the known crash maps on terrorist hunt.
When you get your crash are you running maps other then the TH maps listed here:
trainyard
theater
convention center
oil refinery
3 kingdoms casino
killhouse
street
presidio
Those are the known to work TH maps for online. Other maps are known to cause a crash at map change.

I really hate people who just spit out opinions of other people.

"All jews are bad people." Ok, does that make you a jew-hater too?

"Vista sucks, therefore I MUST agree with the popular notion without conducting any personal research of my own."
"My friend hates tomatoes, therefore I must hate tomatoes too."

F*ck you. People like you are the reason why we have such a disorganized, uncultured society.

Yeah, I've got Ultimate x64 Vista (with Service Pack 1) and I haven't had a problem with Vegas2.

On the other hand, Windows XP runs the game with ****ty sound issues, unless I plug in my friend's old old ghetto 1999 PCI sound card (ironic, eh? Using old equipment to run new games...)

And LOL, look at the length of Altair's response. "Oh no, I'm hurt, I have to respond with something short and pray that it's witty."

Well guess what... YOU'RE NOT BEING WITTY ENOUGH. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

You know i used to be one of those people that said "Hey everyone says Vista sucks, so it must" I waited a little bit for the kinks to be worked out and bought Vista 64 for my newest build. I could not be happier with my experience, and I have had a computer since I was 7, (a tangy 100) way before windows has been out. I have had every carnation of Windows and new them all well. Read any new tests and they all say Vista 64 is THE FASTEST windows ever! Way more stable than xp was for me! Just like all the people that bought dual cores and used to argue they you don't need quad cores because dual cores are faster for certain things (at the time) and nothing is optimized for quad cores. They were just mad they didn't have the best anymore and wanted to justify it.

Anyways SoT_AllOutWars I have the same as your system specs, but an older 7950gt and am running with no issues.

I would suggest you should

1. d/l NGO 64bit Nvidia drivers from here
http://www.ngohq.com/home.php?page=Files&go=cat&dwn_cat_id=10

2. d/l tuneuputilities 2008 from here
http://www.tune-up.com/download/

3. d/l winutilities from here
http://www.ylcomputing.com/content/view/9/27/

booth programs have full function 30day free trials

4. Uninstall your drivers, then use "drivercleaner" (cough, isohunt ,cough, cough) choose the multiple filters and select any and all drivers you want removed from your system, especially all the nvidia ones) and restart
("if" for any reason your screen is blank after restarting, restart again hit F8 and choose the boot in low resolution mode, that will fix that)

5. run the registry cleaners for both tuneuputilities 2008 and winutilities.(these are the only registry cleaners I would ever run(for now) on vista 64 period!(and YES run both!) I've tried them all, and others will fuc* things up, these will never!) Then \compact\ the registry with tuneuputilities reg-defrag.
You will have to restart after the reg-defrag, so do it last.

6.After restart install the NGO drivers (which are WAY better looking than the Nvidia oem's AND faster at the same time!)
Restart
defrag system(if need be)

It seems like a hell of alot but should only take about 20 min or so and your system will run better than ever after doing it, if you have never done so before(boot faster as well). I'm willing to bet after the cleanings and regdefrag, the game runs perfect, but you never know. Let me know if it helps, otherwise the only thing after that would be a reinstall, but I'll help as much as possible to help you try to figure it out,(that way we have more players onlinehttp://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Good luck

If that were true than why does mine work with no tweaking?

Instead of coming in here and proving what you dont know.

Try reducing the size of your sig to represent the true size of your brain.

Yeah seriously.

I have ****ty computer specs, just look:

GeForce 7900gs VertoByPNY
2 GB DDR2 800mhz RAM
AMD 3800+ (not even dual-core!)
PCChips A11G motherboard
on-board sound

And guess what... Windows Vista runs great. Vegas 1/2 run better on Vista, (although other games like Crysis run better on XP).

I've heard people can have problems running certain games on vista 64, although 32 doesn't seem to be problematic.
