Guess somehow this forum eluded me (Frozen, wish you would have told me most of the action is here) Anyway, if some of you know or don't know I've been one of the most vocal critics of the Amped series, especially 3 which was an insult to the sport http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_mad.gif

I don't snowboard, I tried it once on vacation nearly busted my A** trying to figure out how to shift weight, so I thought if I could surf then I should be able to snowboard...uhhh NO WRONG!! With that said I highly respect the sport being a former surfer as it much harder to learn and unforgiving to boot http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/metal.gif

Amped 1 IMO was the closest to actually feel like I was doing it and was the ESCAPE from THPS crazy thumb-destroying combo's. I love the fluid feel to flipping/spinning with preforming single tricks and how close to the ground you could hold them but what I really liked about it most was taking months to really learn what snowboarding's like and was not easy to learn the controls. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

So that's what I HOPE SWS has to offer and the more you practice the better you get at controls. This game looks better than Amped, but lets face it it is not a simulator like the upcoming Stoked will be, so it won't be 100% realistic in every detail. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif

Some of the physics look a tad jerky and those landings don't look so good, especially the part where the rider crashes and keeps going riding like nothing happened..that cheapens the experience http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

I think there is much more room for improvement and polishing as the controls need to flow. What I hope for is a hybrid of Amped and Skate, something like the aerial features of Amped, especially off axis as that represented freedom of how you move when you hit ramps and grinding/jibbing features in skate depended on how you land on the rail is how you would grind it but only a single grind not 5 on the same rail for 100's of feet.

I really hope it all turns out right, but if your listening Ubi DO NOT pull a 2ksports stunt and RUSH this game out not really ready. I do think most would wait longer to have everything to FLOW. I know I would rather wait even 6 months more to have everything FLOW together than to just have the game out to miss minor details in the controls/features that will make or break it, just like 2k/indie blunder did in Amped 3. I just really hope to have a game like Amped 1 that gave me the "feeling" of that experience only much better and dynamic. At least I can say you know multi-player and online functions are cardinal in this day and age http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gif

Thanks, lets put it this way surfing is by no means easy to learn. Luckily when I was doing it my grandmother had a house on the beach so I could practice a lot and took me nearly an entire year to stand up and go down the line. I think the difference was falling off with water to cushion the blow where as snowboarding hard cold slippery ground. I mean when I was trying to turn in a snowboard hitting a patch of ice meant eating it hard http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/51.gif But hey all 3 definitely take time and most of all dedication to learn, otherwise just forget it!
