I have a Logitech optical wheel mouse. Whether the mouse sensitivity was low or high, the sight on my weapon floated around, and I could never zero in on someone. I have played numerous 1st person shooters with this mouse and not had a problem. I have a high end machine in all respects. What do you think gives?? I don't see anyone else with the same complaint, so it must be something instrinsic to my machine, mouse, or their relationship to the software. The game looked great, but I quit playing because it frustrated me that the thing I enjoy most in these kinds of games, sniper zoom shoot, was not a performable option because of my inability to lock onto any target without floating away. Please give me any of your thoughts about how to fix this problem.

It's not your machine, happens for everyone..If your standing while sniping the scope will "float' around just as it would in real life from exhaling/inhaling/wind etc. If you want more control in sniping try crouching or better yet going prone and you will find it ALOT steadier.

Don't forget you can hold your breath for an even BETTER shot. (spacebar)

lol. i had the same problem at first! i figured out the prone thing pretty quickly, though I had to die to get back to menu to examine the 'new' keys for doing such things. (new to me). prone your pretty much dead steady. same with 'x' fire mode, and 'f' use (thought it was space at first!). i think i've learned the keys i need now. now to find extra sniper ammo (other than the original 5)

if you really don't want your gun to sway, go to this folder:
Far Cry Demo\Scripts\Default\Entities\Weapons\
and open AW50.lua with notepad. Change 'Sway=2' into 'Sway=0'. You can also change zoom there (48x! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif). set maxzoomsteps=6
and ZoomSteps = { 3, 6, 12, 18, 36, 48},
Try it! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Just one question about the response about non-swaying, will it work in the official release the same way when it comes out on April 13th? I think this is an awesome tip, and really appreciate the insight into how to change the game to fit your needs!!! Thanks!!!!

It is the sway of the weapon. It also takes a bit more time to bring the gun to aim (hold right-click). Slider to the right adds more lazy. Slider all the way left turns it off.
