Its the A button instead of the trigger in multiplayer mode. if your to the front or on the side of merc you will elbow him but if your behind him you will grab him unless hes crouching and then he will just knock him out.

Listen...spies don't need to try and grab mercs. Whats the obsession?

Its like the AWP of Counter-Strike.
The airplane of Battlefield....

If the occasion arises where you can sneak up behind a merc and grab him....cool. Its a neat move, I concur. But if you run around with that as your major goal of the game, yer gonna get upset fast.
Any decent merc knows how to get out of that situation and kill you.

I think spies that love grabbing mercs really want to hold a man in real life but, are afraid to do it.

Not true. I played 3 mercs vs 1 spy (I was on the mercs team) and we got wasted. This guy was good. Running around jumping on our heads and snaping our necks. We even had mines placed all over the place.

I don't remember him ever going for the 133s. He killed us all.

But there is another reason...

Mercs don't get so many lives as spies, and grabbing is one of the only ways for the spies to kill. Therefore it could be worth it if the spy can kill the merc enough times... as i think the person above me said.

(and if you're 3 merc vs 1 spy and he wiped you out you guys must really suck like really really suck.

Most of the time we have great success. However, Mercs who are GOOD and stick together are a problem. We simply switch gears and go for hacks in that case.
