I've recently ordered several stuff from an online shop, including a Thrustmaster Top Gun Fox 2 Pro. All of the items arrived by now, besides the stick, which apparently still hasn't been delivered at the store after several delays.
What I wanted to know is if it's worth waiting for this stick. I've been to town recently and I found some Saitek sticks (ST90's and ST100's or ST50's) which were priced only about 10 euro's more then the Thrustmaster stick I ordered online.
What certainly caught my attention is that the Saitek sticks I saw looked like plastic toys rather then a good, solid stick. Ofcourse I didn't open any of the packages and I certainly didn't test them out in a flightsim yet, but this was just the impression I got.
Should I cancel my order at the webshop and buy one of those Saiteks, or wait for my Thrustmaster stick?

WAIT for your Thrustmaster stick by all means. You'll be glad you did.
I have a Cougar HOTAS and wouldn't use any other. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Hehe, okay. Looks more solid then those Saitek ones as well. Now let's just hope they deliver it this month...I'm waiting for over 4 weeks now... http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif

Keep pestering them on where it is, either in person or by phone. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Yep, the Thrustmaster will outlive them all. I had a Saitek Cyborg 3D Gold that lasted until the warranty was over and then it went south on me. I'll never buy another Saitek product again.

Yeah, wait for your Thrustmaster. I bought an X-45 when I bought the game because that was the best thing on the shelf at the store and I thought I was going to just sit down and play a flight sim game. Riiiiigggght.
It works fine, better than its looks for the most part, but the stick centering arrangement is just abysmal in terms of smoothness. I found that lithium axle grease made an intolerable situation tolerable. I will use it until it doesn't work anymore, I'd feel victimized it took more than a year.
I had a $29 Thrustmaster years ago. You had to replace the springs all the time, but they'd keep sending 'em to you and it was smooth.

I quite like the X45 and the Cyborg but I don't think I'd be interested in the cheaper Saiteks. I've had a Top Gun Afterburner II and found it to be a fine stick until it wore out.
