Do I keep URU installed or do I need to uninstall it before installing XPack. I was just wondering before I did anything.

You don't need to uninstall Uru before installing the Xpack. However, if you do have trouble installing the Xpack, try the following:

1. Copy the Uru Program Files \sav folder and its two subfolders to somewhere on your hard drive. If you accepted the Uru install defaults, \sav and subs will be in a path like C:\Program Files\Ubi Soft\Cyan Worlds\Uru - Ages Beyond Myst\sav\4865696D64616C6C\current. Delete everything in C:\Program Files\Ubi Soft\Cyan Worlds\Uru - Ages Beyond Myst EXCEPT for \sav and its two subs.

-- a. If you didn't do a default Uru install and don't have a C:\Program Files\Ubi Soft\Cyan Worlds\Uru - Ages Beyond Myst folder path, create it, and copy \sav and subs into it.

2. Create the folder path C:\Program Files\Ubi Soft\Cyan Worlds\Uru - To D'ni (exactly as shown, including spaces), and copy \sav and subs into it.

3. Disable your anti-virus software.

4. Clean your original Uru CD - carefully remove all smudges and fingerprints. Put the CD in the drive from which you first installed the game.

5. If you're running Win XP, be certain that you're logged in with Administrator privileges. Also be certain that the hard drive to which you're installing the Xpack has at least 3 GB of space available.

6. Using Start > Run, run Urutodni.exe. Accept the default folder install paths that show up, like C:\Program Files\Ubi Soft\Cyan Worlds\Uru - To D'ni or C:\Program Files\Ubi Soft\Cyan Worlds\Uru - Ages Beyond Myst.

7. Reboot.

8. Start Uru and try to open the new book that has appeared on your other bookshelf. If the game locks up, use Alt-F4, Ctrl-Alt-Del, or reset to bail out, reboot, then restart Uru. Tey to open the new book.

9. Re-enable your AV software.
