In the process of getting the most recent ravenshield server I could find it looks like there are plans for a linux dedicated server but it has not been released. I belive the most recent patch was released early last month -sept 2003 judging from the file dates at 3d gamers. There are some linux instructions/references in the howto, but I can't actually find anyone with a dedicated linux server.
So, its been a monthish now and looking at this thread it looks like perhaps UBI has bailed on a dedicated linux sever? or is it just late or something.
Thanks

Yes, they had a public Linux server running for testing awhile back. They suck, I don't think we will ever see it. I come back every month or two to see if it's been released, I don't know why I bother or why I give them my $$$...

For now the only option is to run the SA dedicated server on Linux with wine.
The drawback is that Punkbuster will make it crash. (1.41 without PB seems to work fine on RH8.0/RH9.0).
I surely hope UBI will ever release a real linux version ever (perhaps after they release Athena Sword?).. but who knows....

Oh i hate Ubi really, i dont know if they are unable to release a linux-server, or if they dont want to, but it cant be that they announce it, and even dont release it many month later...
HEY Whats up, i'm really angry...
And they give no comments on the Server, probably it was an advertising-gag...
If not, why cant they release their beta version, which they ran a few month on a test-server ???
OH f*ck, even Sierra / Valve got a Linux-Server ran for CS,
IS UBI / REDSTORM really unable ?
Argh f*ck f*ck f*ck
If you are unable -> RELEASE YOUR SOURCE CODES, there are many good coders out there, they would make the best linux-gameserver you've ever seen...
Argh
It's argh, argh ?()&?)(!"LÖKH'**+#+ß&%â§56$""
Why???
Windows Servers are expensive, remote admin is shi*...
f*ck Micro$oft
And the next time, i want the games 4 Linux too !!!
Argh,

Calm down there dont get your knickers in a twist, we all ubderstand what your going through, but most of us resigned ourselves that UBI were full of it at the get go.
Anyway just a side note on the RvS 1,41 under WINE with Punkbuster.
I have two servers running with the above & PB is working fine on both, how ever I cant get it to work on a 3rd box no matter what I do.
(Get a crash every now & again but within exceptable time scales)
Ive gone back over the steps I did with the first two which insadently are on the same linux box but to no avail.
Both boxes have similar apps but I cant put my finger on what the problem is except the problem box is newer with RH9 instead of 7.3 on the other box.
