http://www.GhostRecon.net from GR community.

The best: most members, most posts, most answers, most mods, most future.

After this one you mean, San!! /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Not much in the way of mods to be found, granted, but the best guys and plenty of help available for mods, strategy, etc...

I second that!

I like the way this forum works...ok...it could be a little more crowded, but that's ok. I guess most people who post here (at least in the MODS section) get a straight answer...new to this forum or not...

I've made some nice virtual friends here!

Maybe you can't get the mods from here, but you sure do get a sh1tload of links where you can!

This forum would be a bit busier if it wasn't for the likes of you and me taking up all the space, Paul!! /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Made some good virtual-friends?? Are you talking about me behind my back again? /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif

And you can get mod bits here. You get them emailed to you on request by some very nice people. They make your machine crash though...!! I thought you'd disappeared anyway? Many minutes no post - even a coupla hours! What were you playing at?!? Glad you're back, I was getting bored and lonely! /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif

JUST DON'T CRAMP MY SPACE! LOL! /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-mad.gif /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

about me behind my back again?"

Gav, you know I would say it in your face and never behind your back, even the nice things! /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

Sure,...mods can be found here, but most of them suck...they indeed tend to crash your system and if you contact the, so called ' creator' of it, he claims it worked fine before and, more or less, blames it on you and your system! /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

My advise: do not accept home-made missions from this 'forum fraud' Gav...I suspect him of sabotaging my system with his mod, leaving me (sometimes /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif ) defenseless against his comic remarks!

Well, if you only suspect me of comedy-fraud, I guess I'll be happy! What you don't know is that I've set up a secret program on your computer which allows me to control everything it does. When my missions go around the world, I'll have more control over people and computers than Microsoft could ever dream of! Hahahahhahahahahaha /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Did you try playing the mission without changing any kits like I suggested? Just to see if it works I mean - obviously the fault would still be there, but I was just wondering if there was a work-round...

XyZspineZyX

Yes, I've tried that...it starts loading and then it crashes...

I am going to try it later again.

I'm a bit p*ssed off about that, actually... I work f**king hard and spend hours and hours playing and testing my missions to make sure there's no glitches in then that I don't know about. You always feel a bit of a fool if someone's really looking forward to playing a mission, and then it breaks on them, so you try and avoid it if possible!

I try out everything I can think of - taking no specialists, taking only specialists, playing on all three skill settings, doing the objectives in different orders, moving around the map in different directions to the ones I would normally go in. Any glitches I find, I fix - I normally pick up a few on the first few runs, but that's why I spend so long checking them out. When I've done all I can, I generally give it to my brother, for him to test and play however he wants - it's fun for him, and he might try something I didn't think of and find a fault. What's really annoying is that that mission took me ages to write - over twice as long as anything I'd done at that time - and I spent dozens of hours testing it, and me and my brother found nothing wrong with it. Now, I send it to you and the stupid thing won't even let you start the mission, leaving me looking like a right idiot! /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-mad.gif

I can send it you again if you like, in case your copy got corrupted somehow, but otherwise... Don't know what to do with it. I can send you another mission if you like, see if that works on your machine...?

It wouldn't be a language issue, would it? I have the English version of the game, and I assume you have the Dutch version? Could the different langauge versions mean that missions aren't transferable? But then again, the Frostbite mod, and all the others, don't suffer that problem, do they? I don't know. F**ked off with it now! /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-mad.gif

Lol....I think a Dutch version doen not even excist!!

I have the English version as well, so that should not be the problem! /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Let me try it right now and maybe I can cheer you up again (if it works).

Ah, but it won't cheer me up at all, coz you just know it won't work! /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

If not the language thing, then I'm out of ideas. Would we have to be running the same GR version number? Same patch I mean? I shouldn't think so, coz my brother didn't have IT when he tried it, so his patch would be different to mine and it didn't cause him any problems... But I assume you have the 1.4 patch? Mine is 1.3.5 - although, like I said, I don't think would be the cause of any problems.

I've patched untill 1.4 yes....that shouldn't be it either

No, I didn't think so. I take it you're back so soon because it crashed again?

It's a pity that there's no tech support for mods... Maybe I should find some other poor unsuspecting soul to send it to and see if it works on their system or not...

Ok,...well...deleted some kits I've found from me testing a while ago...The kit selecting was np, but crash even so during loading.

Oh, so half a success then? I suppose that means that things are looking up. A little bit. Finally. Right then, what would make a mission crash on startup?? You haven't modded any of the actors or enemy kits from the default ones that come with the game have you? Coz the mission refers to the battlefield map, and all the soldiers in it are characters from the original campaign. So it would cause problems if you've changed any of that, but I doubt you would have... Maybe I'll have another look at it tonight when I copy another mission for you to try. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Maybe the version-thing is a problem. I know some mods with missions made in 1.3 or earlier crash in 1.4.

Patch 1.4 changes some things, so it doesnt's work with older versions anymore.
