Ubisoft and Crytek announced two rising stars of game development have joined the Far Cry development team. The game's next phase in development will focus on multiplayer, and leading development is Chris Auty (Counter Strike, Condition Zero) as lead multiplayer level designer and Richard Tsao (Asheron's Call 2, Dungeon Siege) as the multiplayer producer for the game. The 'bad' news is that the expansive plans to Far Cry's multiplayer modes and online play have extended its development period to Q1 2004.

i'm really phyched that the guty who designed de_astec has been added to the team and the support they're giving for the MP is a good thing

but the guy also helped design Nightfire, which was an atrocity, I think the regular dev team coulda done just fine with their own multiplayer ideas. Also, does everyone forget that mods will be made with ease, and i'm sure plenty of gameplay styles and maps and stuff for multiplayer will be more than adequate from the community. I don't think this is a wise move.

well those new devs must be really quick workers as to complete multi player in less than a month.

game companies make me want to puke saying that it will be out in q4 2003 when they havent even started multi player yet
