2006 I think. Or when we finally get some support from the devs (no offense Rhoulette).

fraps will slow the game down too much in most cases, demos don't affect your frame rates, thus, they are much better and the files are smaller than AVIs.

If FRAPS slows you down, I would look into getting a better computar.

Fraps when recording am avi will slow any computer down if you turn on the fly compression on. If you don't turn it on, you'll wind up with a massive multi-gigabyte avi on your harddrive which you will then have to compress which will take a lot of time and effort.

Demos have none of these hassles and can be replayed at any resolution and quality settings. And they are much smaller and easier to share and email. Not many people have space to upload 100+ meg avi's of their games to share.

Ah I can't wait until Battlefield 2's "Battlefield TV"- it records just the coding so it uses up a very minimal amount of resources- that's gonna be so awesome just recording videos easily. Does fraps work the same? I've heard of it many times before, but somebody should definitely post some fraps videos here.

Fraps has to make AVIs, and to post 'em here someone would have to either use a FTP or have alot of webspace. I think it's just fine as a substitute since we obviously won't be getting a demo recorder, but it's certainly not ideal.
