Hi,
Just wanted to leave a message about the FarCry SP demo installation. It cannot be installed without a C: partition. You'll get an error "Error 1327.Invalid Drive: C:\" when you try to run the setup.

Now, don't ask me why I don't have a C: partition, because I'm not sure. All I know is that while I was installing WinXP, I wasn't paying much attention to how it named the partitions it created, and I ended up with a root I: partition, and it can't be changed.

The full version of the game will install properly when released, but I would like to try the demo ahead of time. Albeit, the drive letter is my fault.

No complaints really, just hoping a SP demo I could install might get realeased, because I'm very interested in the game. It's far too difficult to reinstall everything on my computer now.

Tell me how it is; I'm looking forward to it.

looks like you guys have 3 choices

1: Backup everything and repartition your HDD using the windows XP cd-rom (activation may be a problem),

2: Try the demo on a friends PC, or

3: Get another HDD, unplug your current one, and install Windows 98. (You only need an old 2GB+ drive)

actually our only choice is that a developer/programmer fix it so we can choose the drive letter we want from the beginning itself

ty but I just found how to fix it http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
ok here it is:

get a secondary hard drive (i got my dad's one)
install it as slave
get in windows then allow it to install drivers
reboot
then it will show the secondary hard drive as C:/
go install far cry.. it will not give the error
then install on your main HardDrive F:/ in my case
turn off pc
take the secondary harddirve out and put it back to where it belongs.

basically the secondary HD is being used as a cd key to go to the next install screen where it let you choose the path for the installation.

hope that helped. cya

I had this same problem, the problem is that the installare wants to unpack itself onto the C drive but I and u dont have an HD labled C Mine is labled F. So to get around this I had to put in another HD I had laying around. My computer designated that the C drive. Then I tried it again, the demo installer unpacked itself then installed the game onto my main F drive.
