Lol NJ. The game is good, no doubt. Gets repetetive though. Offers a lot of gameplay time, but once you play it, there isn't much replay, and you get bored of it after awhile and very few people actually go through to beating it.

LoL. More freedom. Being able to go into buildings and wreak havoc. Steal a plane. Do whatever the hell you want. Multiplayer would also be good. Something to give it replay. Better graphics is also a must. The graphics blow. Rivalry. Someone else doing the same thing. Just more is what I expect. The game is good, no doubt, but it's not the best. It doesn't have the replay or quality I want.

See, I don't own it but I was going to buy Mafia once, which is sorta like GTA:VC, and after awhile of playing the demo I realized it would get boring fast so I never bought it. Anyway, I agree with you that VC is not the best and that it probably would get boring quickly/no replay value...

EDIT: Crap, I hijacked the thread, well my favorite thing if I owned GTA:VC would have to be the freedom.

LoL. Hell has indeed frozen over. It's a first. The game does get boring. Then again, just about all do. Either because a newer, better sequel or similar game is out, or because it just doesn't have replay. It takes a truly awesome game in order to give a lot of replay over a long period of time. Only a few have done it for me.

Perfect Dark, Goldeneye, Dynasty Warriors 3 and 4, Halo, Starcraft, Warcraft 3, MoH:AA, and BF1942.

Once again, I disagree. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif Vice City is an amazing game, I haven't found it repetitive at all, and I've completed it twice. There is SO much to find and do in the game, and it's such good fun just playing it to cause havoc.

What do you mean very few people beat it? LoL everyone I know (online and offline) that have the game played it all the way through to complete it. And playing after you complete it is cool too. I have yet to be bored of it.

One of the best games on the PC to have come out this year, and probably last couple of years too.

There are so many things to do in that game! They are all great! There's no way it's repetitive.

All the side missions, all the secret stuff. It's great! Plus, getting a 100% of the game completed it cool!

GTA Vice City is the best yet, the amount of attention to detail is staggering, Rockstar completely outdid themselves with VC, I thought they did a bloody good job on GTA III then they went and made VC 10 times as good!!!

I'd like to know how they are going to improve on it, some obvious things like more building interaction etc, but for attention to detail, well it is just amazing.

well, i haven't played gta:vc (i know, 'gasp') but in gta 3 there was one spot where i sniped every possible person while i had infinate ammo on and at that spot the police could never get to me. i had, like 7 or 8 felonies and then i got tired of it and i quit because if i stepped out, i would get ambushed by almost 20 cop cars...

I also like to go to the airport with the street motorcycle (PCJ 600) and see how long I can do a wheele on the runway.

I also love taking my bodyguards with me in the limo then using the unique jump at the airport. As I bail out of the limo after we have gotten over the fence. I look at my bodyguards freaking out in the limo. Its funny as hell. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif Try it and see.

I never said it wasn't good. I just said it isn't everything. Maybe you have a lot of time on your hands. Or rather, this is a splinter cell forum, where many people seem to have said "splinter cell has replay", so if you can drag replay out of SC, I guess you could drag replay out of VC as well.

Anyway, everyone I know, they all get to around halfway, some up to 80%, get tired, drop it. Only occassionally pick it up to have a little fun killing people and what not. I have also read in reviews, gamespotting, and the like online the exact same thing. Most people just seem to get tired of it.

For me, personally, I never got fully into simply because I think it could be better, especially with the freedom, should be more, should be based on the pc then ported to ps2 so it could be designed for pc with better graphics, bigger everything, easier to access online play and downloads and the like. It would make the game 200% better.

To some, yes. I never like the original. I never liked the top view. I only got into it once gta 3 came out with the 3d.

ya, i alsop heard the first 2 gta's with top view were pretty much the same storyline, just with different gfx. is that true?

No. Not at all. The first two were based around gang warfare and doing missions for em and such.

I think he's talking about GTA 1 and 2 being the same in mission structure etc, and just different graphics. Not being the same as GTA III / VC.

As for the question, they are fairly similar, but in the second GTA you have the addition of a "Respect" meter, which makes the game more interesting. You do jobs for one gang, and it makes a rival gang hate you more, and you can doublecross etc. The whole series of games is brilliant.

Ehhh.. I did not say you said it wasn't good anywhere in my post /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif And incidentally, I don't think there's that much replay in Splinter Cell, and nothing compared to replay in GTA Vice City. I'm surprised that people you know don't bother to complete the game, it's quite difficult but never gets boring, and it's so much fun to add diversity with the extra sub missions etc etc when you don't feel like doing a plot mission.

I don't really take much notice of Gamespot reviews, after all, they said the Orc Campaign of Warcraft III : The Frozen Throne was worthwhile. It was pathetic, a complete cop-out instead of giving a real Orc campaign we just got one huge level with very tedious creep bashing.

Sure it could be better, but the freedom level in it now is excellent, and very addictive. Again, to everyone I know offline/online they completely love it. Maybe different in the USA. I do agree however that if they made it a PC version FIRST, instead of PS2'ing it, then the whole game would be much better on PC, then they could downgrade it for the PS2 which can't handle everything a PC can.

The Orc Campaign was awful, and THEN THEY MADE YOU WAIT FOR THE NEXT INSTALMENT. I can't believe that crap, that was SUCH a copout. I got so tired of wandering back and forth over that bloody map.

I am from England, like nj. Perhaps you do at that LoL. Yes the multiplayer games are great, although I much prefer playing against the computer rather than the kEwLdEwD kids that infest Battle.net.

Yah, a lot of kids. But that's why I play custom games. So much variety, and it the noobs aren't as much of a problem.
