Il-2 Sturmovik. Torque Effects Problem: The ball "centers" only at 0% power on Bf and FW fighter aircraft.

The Torque Effect (This is a bendable tab on the rudder, adjusted by the ground crew in real life, exactly like the aileron tab of the MiG-21) should be corrected to center the ball at 100% power, for three reasons:

1) Critical Maneuvers are performed at 100% power, not at 0% power. - Eg. Takeoff, Go-Around (Waveoff), and Combat Maneuvering. With the present Torque Effect, aggravated stalls and stall/spin incidents are very likely DURING THESE MANUVERS, and occur frequently on OKL aircraft.

2) Accurate Gunnery is impossible with any power setting, except idle. Puy another way: gunnery accuracy is only possible at 0% power, (This is as useless as teats on a Boar Hog. On the Yak, I set my rudder trim to "center the ball" at 100% power. Arguably, my gunnery is superb. In the Bf or the FW, I can't hit a barn, let alone the Bull's Rear.)

3) With the present programming, IL-2 Sturmovik is unfair. When fighting highly maneuverable aircraft (Eg. Yak, La-5FN), Bf and FW fighters must have gunnery accuracy at 100% power. Against these aircraft, quickly-aimed "snap shots" will be the only opportunity for success.

Impossible gunnery and aggravated departure from controlled flight is not desirable .. when engaging in air combat.

Has the OKL FM on IL-2 Sturmovik has earned an undeserved status? Could you please correct this condition, or direct me to where a resolution may be found. We need to get the "ball" rolling.

Thank you.

I agree, most virtual pilots choose Yak and Lagg La. The german planes couldnt be that bad. Only a few realy good virtual pilots can survive, most prefear russian planes.
Please give us a patch, it would improve the game.

I have no problem hitting tiny fighter planes when flying at full power and I don't even use trim.

Patch is due in 10 days, and don't expect all German planes to perform wonders because they were just planes, not superman's diapers.

You must give me a lesson in the fine art of aerial gunnery. I have tried to adjust the joysticks pitch, roll and yaw it improved stability but decreased the manouverybilty

I am still using the stick input settings from my IL2 days, I guess I just got used to them by now.

Too bad I lost all my Bf109 "Emil" vs Ace Hurricane tracks after a re-install because windows didn't boot up anymore after I crapped it up with different sets of mainboard drivers.

I will record some new ones after the patch is released.
The only track I have now was for a buddy of mine who wanted to know how to fight Brewsters in a Hurricane Field Mod because he was having a hard time with the offline campaign.

If you want the track drop me a mail at dsa_gabriel@hotmail.com

Im not certain that I understand what you mean by "keping the ball centered".
I assume that the ball is the horizon instrument, and to keep the ball centered is when you fly and the plane doesnt climb or dive, nor turn left or right the ball is fixated.
But when I roll, turn climb or dive how shall I keep the ball centered. Is it when you roll and the "ball" only rotates around one axis, like a apple which is penetraded by a nail, rotates in only one dimension?
Have I understood?
