My oh my, some may say using all caps is kinda too loud So try to look before you post it.

Yesterday I got my 9800 pro in mail and I set all graphics settings to very high. Just to test it. Also have only 512 memory . The
game played exquisitely for a while then
polygons etc. started showing up and water turned flourescent red color. major blast for my game . Then after rebooting by itself every ten minutes into play, I set the graphics to just a tad lower say ..high instead of very high.
Ten minutes into play I had Super Freeze,now. Necisitated my manual power off butoon to kill the freakin thing.

With the combination ram boosters cleaner and absolutley nuthing running in backround.It still either Froze up during play or crashed to desktop or simply rebooted itself.

With my brand new card I finally did the unthinkable as read on this forum and put graphics down to a lowly medium. And presto !
No problems but why with this card can't it run? Some say card is at fault.

Perhaps he is on a apple ii+ That doesn't have lower case.

It's not the card anyway. I'm using an Athlon 3000+, 1.5gb pc2700, abit kv7 mobo and a 9600XT and haven't had 1 problem yet, before or after patching. Which driver revision are you using? 4.4 are grand....

so sorry about the caps, started with original catalist then went to 4.4 same problem then went to the beta 4.5 still same problem even with graphics set to low. This looks like a awsome game if i can get it to run right im almost sure its not a hardware issue but a software glitch really would like to get it fixed ill keep plugging away at it thanks

The card performs great now! Totally reformatted HD.

I had a similar problem. I upgraded drivers, reinstalled software, basically tried everything. Finally I went to this site: http://modding.stylespc.com/Howto/howto3.html and added some extra cooling to my graphics card - Bingo - no more lockups. It's worth a try and costs next to nothing.
