Exception 0xc0000094 0x004e33f6 S4

Decided to come back and play S4 after a break.

Before the break I was able to get S4 running after trying to start it about 20 times (after each Fatal error)

But now I can not http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

I have Uninstalled and reinstalled several times now...and updated to latest patch.

Keep getting this fatal error : Exception 0xc0000094 0x004e33f6

Tried running in Compatability mode (in various combination and from the short cuts and S4main.exe)

nothing seems to work http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

Machine spec.

Ati Radeon 9700 pro
512 MB pc 3200
Asus P4800c
Pentium 4 3ghz HT

Settlers 4 goes in the bin.

Many months (probs 3 years) playing Settlers 1 (on the Amiga)

Missed Settlers 2 as it was PC only....

Settlers 3 worked ok on PC with the patch

As far as your exception problem goes... this is a common problem with the game and unfortunately theres no real solution.

S4 has bad memory allocation..

The error you have is known as a compatibilty error,I dont see why by doing what you have its not now working.

I'm experiencing the same problem having just re-installed the game on this machine.
Specs
Win XP HE
P4 2.67GHz
512MB RAM
nVidia GeForce4 MX440

I installed the latest patch file SIV_1516 but no change. Any suggestions... I've been playing the game since it came out and still have the original S1 on floppies!

Have either of you looked at the old ubi forum or settlers4.net/forum where errors have been discussed many times.

Perhaps by researching these forums, you might find something that may help you.

Thanks for the tip - I wasn't aware of the other forum. I changed both s4 and s4_main to win98/Me compatibility mode and it works fine.
