To get to the lava room you must go high in the air and do a long balancing walk. No tunnel to the lava room until you have done the high walk. Once in the lava room area you will be able to unlock a door that opens to the tunnels.

Yeah. I did that walk one of the first things in Voltaic. Still no Lava room. Is there anything actually wrong or did I miss anything.
What happens is when inside the ventilation tunnel at the other end of the pipeline walk it´s impossible to get anywhere. I can see there are ventilation slits in the floor of the tunnel but nothing else.

It has been so long since playing but -- have you clicked on the ventilation slots in the tunnel floor?

BobF is right,

quote from the Bert Jamin walkthrough...
<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-title">quote:</div><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-content">Step on the tube and walk all the way to the end. Look at the right and you'll discover a ventilating shaft. Open the grid and climb into the shaft. After one step forward the grid closes behind you and it gets as dark as night. When you look around, you'll see a faint glimmer in the distance. Go into that direction two steps. Look down and you see another grid. Open it and enter that room. </div></BLOCKQUOTE><div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Yeah it won´t open

Everything else is set up already. Four out of five lights on the control panel for Voltaic. I guess there is actually something wrong here .. :-/

Chaan, I have reloaded the game and am now standing in the air tunnel. It works fine for me. When in the tunnel can you see the light near the first opening and the closed door? Can you turn around and see the far end and its grilled end? Between the two there is a grill that is under your feet. That is the one you want to click on. The grill in the very far end does nothing at all but if you are there you can turn around a see bit of light in the floor. Go take a look there. You must have your view pointed straight down to see the opening. Don't give up at this point.

Two ways to look down. Bring your cursor to the very bottom of the screen and hold it. The view will rotate down. Or, right click the cursor and the view will move around the cursor. Pull down on the mouse and the view will rotate till you see down.

Ok thank you nanoukmetal and BobF I hardly found that floor hatch even though you pointed at it!

Well now I got steam :-)

By the way I´m sitting in Sweden - thats why we mismatch timewise.

And no I wouldn´t have wanted to get stuck at that point - I think this game is unbelievably cool.

Really? This is your favorite of the series?

Have you discussed that elsewhere? I am curious to read your evaluation.

Oh boy oh girl http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif

Your comment did bring backs many memories.

A long time ago, end of 2005, beginning of 2006, all the forums were very, very active on this site and there was a kind of funny "war" between the different factions of every Myst and Uru fans.

The subject was: Which one was the best?
I will summarize by saying that it was a very "hot" discussion and it divided the community into "fan groups"

I will give you a link to one of those "full of fire threads" (18 pages of postings)...click here (http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/5811098262/m/7851012033)

I would say that it depends much about what you were expecting for, at the beginning, how much experiences you had with pc games, state of mind, philosophy of your own life etc etc.

It is very hard to say exactly why I connected so much with Myst 3. I can only summarize that it was the game into which I was the most immersed.

If we read everyone points of views, the experiences were not the same for all people, at the same time/space. I would add that all your real experiences in life might be the answer. It just happens or not. You could make a parrallel with love between two persons.

As an apprentice philosopher, I would say: it is all about "synchronocity" (word invented by Carl Jung, I beleive)

Joke: I call it "the Big Bang Theory", The New Beginning.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

It has been intering to read the connents here. You see wheb Myst cane out all those years ago it was breaking edge programming for the time . Ibought and played Myst and Riven when they first came out. Each gme has been a great experience amd the technollogy to have 3D and living creatures just added to this wxperience. I don't have a favorite as each game out Ienjoyed the beauty and the puzzels that much more. I hope there inagination never stops with the Myst and Uru series , just enjoy them and have fun.
