hey guys, I was wondering if there are more movies like 'the cell'.

I loved the cell for it's uniqueness and eye opening yet disturbing look into a tormented mind. The visualizes blew me away, but the plot and monologue just threw me off as much as a teen slasher film. That and the fact they had to actually give some kind of realistic grounds of explaining how they 'dive' into the killers mind.

I loved dante's's inferno since I started reading it which lead me to 'the cell'. The scenes when she's in his head really seems something out of dante's work.

So yeah if anyone can think of a movie like this then let me know. If only the monolog and plot was as good as the visual aspects of the movie it would have been the best film I ever have seen.

What, I'am praying for is the same director that made the cell makes dante's work into a film.

I'd suggest checking out What Dreams May Come with Robin Williams. Maybe not a great movie, but some very interesting and groundbreaking visuals. I can't think of anything else off the top of my head that's so out there. Brazil, by Terry Gilliam, maybe. That's actually a really excellent movie, but a lot of people find it a bit strange for their liking.

Jacobs Ladder is really good. It's about a Vietam vet having flashbacks from experimental drugs he was given during the war.

Yeah, Jacob's Ladder is an interesting one. Looking at the entry on the IMDB, it actually lists 'Dante's Inferno' as an alternate title for that one, so it's probably a good one to check out.

If you're looking for surrealism without the high budget visuals, anything by david lynch would be right up your alley (blue velvet, lost highway, mulholland drive).

Another movie worth checking out is event horizon. It's kind of a typical sci fi horror flick, but it has a creepy atmosphere and some out-there visuals.

And here I thought we were talking about a terrorist cell. I'm so disappointed. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

I didn't particularly like the movie, so talking about it wouldn't be such a thrill.

Of the ones yet unseen, Lost Highway would be your best bet.
