View Full Version : 1.2 PATCH cannot find it's own GAME from within the far cry folder!

just moved all my games to clean integrated hard drive - patches for FAR CRY & Castle Wolfenstein cannot find those programs installed.....callofduty, all moh's, painkiller, half-life, etc. patches ALL work fine. only thing changed about the folders is the C: to an M:

HELP

windows xp
athlon 2800
1gig ram
9600 xt

did you just move the games over, or did you install them ?

Painkiller for example does not check the regsitry for where the game is installed, so it will let you move around freely.

Far Cry, checks the regsitry and so it only know where the regsitry tells it the game is. I did a search but I didn't see any place where it listed it, though i did find a section where all the values where encrypted and I would guess that's where it's stored. About your only real option is to uninstall and re-install

BF1942 and BF-V does the same thing, but at least you can go into teh regsitry and change where they point to. Shame They don't allow that in FC

no, i installed far cry on m: drive fresh after uninstalling from my c: drive, no problem with BFV either but i dont have 1942. even had cleaned out registry with fix-it utilities.
