Hello,
I just wonder if ites possible to have some prefab stuff.. or tools that generate em. For excample when you have a basic map with the red replace-me textures.. wouldnt it be nice that you just could apply some stuff like "mountain texture" "sandy iseland" etc... those ready to use scripts or whatever form it comes in , would already contain the different layers and detailtextures so you can advance more quickly in that part of the editor process .. Making all the layers and child layers and all seems to be pretty intense...
Incidentially I know a program thats called terragen..(to make nice landscape pics) you can just apply colors and bump maps and the textures (when you generate your terrain) will actually look convincing already...
