View Full Version : Strategy to preserve TrackIr views in movies

Have you guys noticed how, if you switch views during Video Edit, you lose the TIR views in which the track was made in the first place?
I'm going to try the following workaround: Edit the video as usual, import it into MS MovieMaker (which is where I add music, titles etc.) then import the unedited track with the TIR views preserved. Then all I need to do (in theory anyway) is to swap out the static in-cockpit views with the TIR views in the final edit.
Comments anyone?
Here are links to my movies:
F-15s vs Su-27s BVR (http://www.tmeier.org/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=getit&lid=33) (1220 downloads as of 02/19 18:15)
MP BVR 2 vs 2 F-15s vs Su 27s Eagles vs Cranes (http://www.tmeier.org/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=getit&lid=57) (660 downloads as of 02/19 18:15)

Some view changes seem as unstable in Lomac as they were in F2. The only way to be certain you preserve scenes as you want them is to use Fraps or record an external video output.
So your solution sounds like the only way of doing it if you don't want to use Fraps etc for the whole movie.

If you have an external output, you can input to another computer can't you?

From my earlier thread (http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums?a=tpc&s=400102&f=38610606&m=87810388&r=556108661#556108661) reply:
Did you try "Track Insert Mode" (ALT-Backspace) to mix original views with new ones during Video Edit? Default Video Edit mode is "Track edit Replace Mode" (SHF-Backspace).

That's great info, Duster, and will save me a lot of trouble. Thanks much.
