View Full Version : Installed 1.1 patch... after main menu crash

After I installed the patch so I could play multiplayer the games main menu links to nothing. When I click the multiplayer icon the game just drops back to desktop like normal but never loads the multiplayer part.

Any help would be great!

P.s. I finished the singleplayer game twice so far... this game's single player was waay to easy

I get the same bug too. Any ideas?

Sorry, I'm glad there is someone else with the same problem. But I'm clueless as to what to try and change. I used the right patch, the us one not the EMEA or whatever the other patch was.

i have kind of the same problem. i loaded the patch and try to play multiplayer. it then asks me for the correct cd/dvd-rom, depending on what drive my disk is in. wtf!?!

Try executing the MP directly. It's located in *\online\system\shadowstrike_static_retail.exe. If that works, then the problem is with the main menu. If it doesn't, then the problem is with the MP executable.

I made shortcuts to both the MP and SP and then moved the main menu executable to a seperate folder. Now I don't have to worry about the main menu, becuase when I quit either the MP or SP it just goes back to the desktop (No more crashes!!!).

The game still doesn't work for me, and I've been at it for two hours. Did we figure anything out yet? If you resolved your issue, please share with the rest of us.

Im using the european 1.1 patch and still haveing the same probs as you guys. thinking its a generic patch fault? doesnt even ask me for the CD it just CTD's every time i try and load the game, be it from the main menu or from a direct link. heeeeeeeeeelp! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_confused.gif

My problem is still around. There is no exe refered to above in my multiplayer system folder. That may be the problem...

The path for the single player executable is:
(SC PT folder)\offline\system\SplinterCell2.exe

The path for the multiplayer executable is:
(SC PT folder)\online\system\shadowstrike_static_retail.e xe
