Confused after meeting Catherine

I seen the video with Catherine where she takes the linking book from you and tells you you've trapped Ghen, she then goes on to tell you go back to dome island and go to the portal, I've got the code for it but the portal is still black and lots of things are back to it was at the beginning of the game, the dome is spinning again (but I can open it), I can't travel to any other island 'cos the maglev has gone and pushing the blue button won't return it, still nothing happening in the two chambers either.

Look to the lower left of the telescope and zoom in on it. What do you see?

You did turn on the power for the telescope, right? You did find the side room off the spinning room?

Did you open the cover to the portal using the code you have? Perhaps breaking glass will help you further?
