Hi guys

This mission is a bit tricky, i usually run to my left towards higher grounds an wipe out 4 guys on a jeep then try to run towards the cliff edge to get a clean shot at the tanks crossing the bridge.

The point is that you've to be real quick to get in time to the cliff and i have barely the time to aim my rockets when then soldiers across the bridge take me out.

Is there another way to kill the tanks, can they be caught in another part of the map ?

Any help will be appreciated !

Good flight to you !

I just beat that mission. Heres what i did.
First, i cleared the first enemy group. Leave the SAM launcher mission for after on. then, press L1 and command the team with the rocket launcher to go to the bridge. While on the way, control the guy that has the rocket. proceed with caution and after a while, u will see 3 tanks in distance. start shooting from distance (rocket launcher) thats how i beat it. kill the soldiurs later. hope it helped.

To jagaetev,

Make sure your carrying a M136 (Tunny) and head left up the high ground. Even on elite you will have time to take out the jeep and the tangos then move up to the right like you did and take out the tangos around the bridge. You only have to kill the first tank as it crosses the bridge and the other three are blocked and you can relax and carry out the rest of the mission at your own pace. Just be aware of the tangos in the high ground tent camp as you have to deal with them too.

Hi Snipe

Yep just finished it with just one guy left, just did as you said, the tanks crossed too fast the bridge but i managed to get them anyway.

From that same cliff i took down the guys accross the small canyon then proceeded towards the small bridge.

I'm still trying to remake the mission without so many casualties, the two machines guns still are THE BIGGEST threat.

After taking them out i destroy the SAM and head back to the river. At that crossing i loose again two more guys, the bushes on the riverside make the ennemy detection a bit difficult and since i'm not carrying any sniper i just blanket the place with lead.

Finally i head to the small buiding on the left were i take down 2 more guys, the problem is i tried to do it with the grenade launcher but the blast killed me as i was too close (seems that the structure itself redirects the blast against me as i wasn't so close).

Nevertheless thanks for the help, i will retry the mission and get less casualties then i'll move towards THUNDER ISLAND hehehe...

Good flight to you !

To jagaetev,

As you are aware some missions your under the pump to complete the mission or certain objectives. There are only a hand full like this so with the rest just take your time and move with your squads covering you and move slowly. Happy gaming and hope you nailed DS mission 8 with no causalities.

Hi Guys

I made it with a lot of patience after two more try.

Now i'm suck with Island Thunder, oh boy those missions are insanely difficult, in mission 2 with all the rain, vegetation and fog your sniper is of little use. This is a great game, even better than the Rainbow series where you knew that at the next corner an enemy could be waiting for you, in Ghost recon you can die and never now where the shot came from !

Good flight to you !

To jagaetev,

Start the mission and head north and take your time and complete the objective by clearing Guard tower 2. Then double back and clear Guard tower 1. From there move forward and clear the map edges and only then move to clear the enemy camp but take your time and go slow. Clear one building at a time but clear the exterior of the inside compound first/i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

To hempknight61,

Welcome to the game and forum but you need to give a little more info for us to help you. Island Thunder is a expansion pack just like Desert siege is and requires the original Ghost Recon to play for the PC version. I think PS2 has all three games and Xbos has GR/IT but clauseboy88 will be along to conform that if I'm right or wrong.
