Ok - so I took the plunge with my stupidly slow modem - 2.6k if I'm lucky - and downloaded the first two updates today... The only thing is - I can't get them to work! Where do I put them? I unpack them to the main Il-2 directory and they change a few files there - but when I open the game nothing's changed! Unless these new planes are only available online.. in which case I will be most displeased..

If things are working right you should be able to fly the new planes in Quick Mission Builder and in missions made in Full Mission Builder. There won't be single missions or campaigns for all the new planes though.

You can download missions or campaigns for many of the new planes too.
