Trick to make GeForce MX work for Demo?

I am buying the xbox version, but still want to test it out with this demo. I read something saying that you can trick the game somehow to make it think you have a different video card.

If anyone figures out how to do this, please post here.

i have SC for both my PC and Xbox (i got the PC version when my mum got a new graphics card)

i too have an MX card (a GeForce 4 MX 440 to be precise) and i'm not gonna bother as i know it wont work

and no, there arent any tricks to making it run with an MX card

Why would I buy a new graphics card to play a demo for a week before the game comes out on the xbox?

They guy who talked about this didn't say how to do it, but that there was a way. So, I'm looking for that guy, or some other guy to tell me how. I just want to play, even if it does run poorly.

i have the first sc on my xbox, this time im buying sc : pt for my pc. My comp can handel it easily.

Even if it ran, it wouldn't represent what it should be by far. Hardly a way to preview let alone compare to the console graphics.

Yup same here guys! I have GF4 MX440 and im pretty sure its gonna run if i set everything on Low. We'll see when im done downloading so ill let you know then

its not a matter of setting the graphics down low, its just that PT doesnt support the MX card

my MX 440 ran Splinter Cell as well as my Xbox did (in fact the graphics looked better, but that's due to resolution)

You will NOT be able to set PT to work with your graphics card, as quite simply, the MX series of cards lacks Pixel Shader support. Best option is to nip out and get a cheap FX 5200.

The term CHEAP is relative. I could afford to "nip out" and grab an FX 5200. In fact, I could afford to run out and grab a 256 meg 9800 XT, but I wouldn't spend that much on a video card. Not everyone can, though. I know I gripe about car companies using the words ONLY and $35,000 together in their commercials. Not everyone has 100 bucks lying around that they can go spend right this second.

However, I am pretty sure the demo and the game won't even start up if you have an MX video card in the computer. For those people the options are going to be sadly simple. They will have to either upgrade the video card, or not get PT for the computer.

The demo on my MX doesnt work. You can get onto the main menu etc, but when u load the game it crashes to desktop. Will keep trying with some tweaks etc.
