Well, that depends why you're asking.

If all you want to do is just start one of those dumb console wars, PLEASE, NO ONE ANSWER THIS QUESTION!

If you're asking because you have both PS2 and XBOX, then people will give you a straight answer...

First though, which version would you like to buy?

The PC has the best graphics and most problems.

Here goes another feeding of the "Console Wars".

As an owner of 'both' PS2 and XBox, I have to say the XBox version is better. It has better graphics and sound, where UBI had to tone down the PS2 version due to hardware limitations.

i'm not trying to start a console war at all. i own both consoles, and i'm not sure which version to buy. i hear ps2 has a jungle level, and post-mission stats. on xbox, all i hear is great graphics. so, do i sacrifice an extra level for graphics?

Terrax213

Someone said it's not really much of an extra 'level' .. it's more of an extension to the jungle mission from the Xbox/PC versions. It does have the post mission stats though, which I wouldn't mind having on my Xbox, but dont feel the game's incomplete without them.

Terrorist: What the hell?
Fisher: That's the question, exactly. I hope your answers are so apt.

I can only comment on the difference between the 1st splinter cells on both consoles and there was a big difference. So i just went with xbox with PT.. and if you have both systems you should have picked it up in March on Xbox. Xbox seems like the easier choice.

Ok, now that we know you've got both... http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I'd sacrifice - considering the fact that the XBOX version is better than PS2, for the reasons stated above (XBOX's better hardware, Better Graphics, etc).

Also, you can download more levels on XBOX LIVE - right now they only have multiplayer levels available - but I'm pretty sure they'll release new Single Player missions like SC1 did.

while all that has been said about xbox having better graphics is true you have to pay a lot of $ for xbox live. so, if you have a tight budget you might want to get the PS2 version.

If you have Xbox Live, definitely get the Xbox version. It's the only way you'll get additional levels of whatever kind (first pair of maps costs $5). The PS2 harddrive is not supported by UBI.

PS2 has some negligible additions to the single player, but reviews of both versions have had the Xbox version come out on top. Some lights in the single player for PS2 are unbreakable, whereas they are breakable in the Xbox version. PS2 just can't handle as many things as the Xbox can.

????

I just don't get why people keep saying "You'll have to spend A LOT of money for XBox Live." It is $5 a month, which is $60 a year. Yes, you are paying money where on the PS2 you are not. I had negative feelings when I first heard XBox Live cost money. However, now I have it, I see it is definately worth the money. I enjoy all the features it has: downloadable content, friends list, ablity to see what my friends are playing, and a lot more! It's $5 a month! That's less than what you would pay for one month of a MMORPG. I think that is more of a rip-off than the cost XBox Live.

If you already pay for Xbox live i say pick it up. and if you don't have the PS2 network adapter either then i would say go xbox. But honestly i am really happy playing my xbox version and have not played the PS2 versions.

owning the xbox version and played the ps2 version i like the xbox a lot better online because of less lag(i think) little better looking, better sound and 2 great new maps! If you have live GO WITH XBOX

But if your going just for single player ps2 is a better bet because of a new level.

WHAT?! The PS2 version has post-mission stats? I'm trading in my XBOX! Even my PHONE'S version of Splinter Cell has post-game stats... http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif Oh well, perhaps at least it's an indication that all versions of SC3 will have stats (somehow I've become the eternal optimist as of late).

Go with X-box. It has better graphics, and better sound, and downloadable levels!

Vote - Xbox.
I love my xbox, i have a pc that looks nice too. The PC version is Not the best graphics. I laugh when people say it is. Have they ever heard of 52inch high-def flatscreen + 5.1 surround stereo http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif. The PC is a straight port of the xbox version, the PS2 version is a ported Xbox version modified to be able to run on lesser power (We all know its true, no need to fight about it). The ps2 through in some "goodies", but turns out is just the missions stats. I could care less about the stats, would be nice to have but it would turn out I'd skip right throught it alot without checking it. The jungle level they got was like a couple checkpoints more of the indonesia jungle levels.

So...Xbox wins. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Wow, those post-mission stats, just more **** to scroll through when you want to hit next. (I have Ps2, nothing interesting in those stats) I mean, I spend a good 14 seconds looking at my light luminosity (spell check) and my sound meter (i guess?)

I put the fun back in funeral

That's my two f------ cents

I have a good pc and dont bother to pick up ported games. Actually since I got Xbox Live Pc gaming is boring! I mean Xbox Live makes everything so EASY,compared to the Pc. And you know it.

One of my friends has both a PS2 and an Xbox so he got himself Pandora for both systems. For multiplayer, the Xbox version is better. Not for graphics or players or whatever. Its because of the objects they had to remove from the levels to get it to run smoothly on the PS2.

Example: All you Xboxers who play Schermerhorn know that the Train Wagon is going to have mines tucked away behind broken seats and you have to adjust your approach accorrdingly. Not on the PS2... because to save memory, there's nothing in the train wagon besides the ND133. No seats, no cushions. There are a lot of places where you find subtle differences like that which really changes the flow of the game. There's geometry missing in Krauser, Hospital, Warehouse, Deftech, a little from Museum... and it really changes the way you play the map.

Also, the lighting engine works a bit differently. On Xbox, you can be partially hidden in the shadows because of how ambient lighting interacts with the spy's black suit. On PS2, it seems that there are fewer degrees of grey. Its either a fully lit spy or a black spy without the subtle variation you see on the Xbox version.

For me both versins (PS2 and XBOX) sucks!

http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif Only joking!

If ou gonna play only SP the PS2 version is better.
If you gonna play only MP the XBOX version is better.
If you gonna play both buy both versins(kidding againhttp://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif).

I would rather go for XBOX version because of more things you can do via XBOX Live! but i still can't say that taking money from people for using it is ok! Besides not everywhere Internet costs little. So you have to pay both, for internet and for XBOX Live! It is stupid!

XBox by far. XBL is cheap, and any one who bought SCPT has a two month free XBL code they can use, and more and more people are getting broadband.

The PS2 version of the game blows, horrible graphics vs the XBox or the PC. Go with the XBox version of the game or if you have a decent PC go with that.
