hi team...
just wondering if there is any official word on future support for LoMac on 64bit processors? Will there be optimizations done? Will it even benefit from these processors?
thanks...
cheers

It will benefit from P4EE 'cause it's not a 64 bit processor.
AMD64 will run the same as P4EE 'cause it can simulate 32bit processing.

ah, didn't realize the P4 EE was still 32bit. thanks for clarifying that vvanks...
however, that doesn't really answer my question. My question is whether Lo-Mac will be optimized for 64bit processors, namely the AMD-64, to utilize 64bit processing, and thus gaining a bump in performance and frame-rates when using max visual settings.
cheers.

64bit processing has advantage in possibility of adressing much more then 4 GB RAM. LOMAC need't more then 1/1.5 GB RAM.AMD64 will benefit from integrated memory bus driver, speeding thus data transfers between RAM and processor. That's all so far, there is currently no Win based 64bit OS and no 64bit applications either...

well considering that a 64bit operating system would be needed for LOMAC to run in if it was to use the 64bit cpu, I'd say no.
Also the AMD64 doesn't simulate 32 bit processing, it runs it, so there is no slowdown, and is actually the fastest cpu right now b/c of the onboard memory controller

optimization of lomac I don't know but:
Graphics drivers and DX9 versions for 64bit are certain.
Even with only using the 32bit instructions of the Athlon64 chips it's for most games the fasted chip.

I hope so cause that is what I have AMD 64-bit
