4 is a good start, but I really would like to see the majority opinion of this forum.

Think about it kreeden, there are all these things that companies voluntarily recal even though they pose a smaller amount of risk, and yet the tobacco industry representatives deny knowledge of the stuff being dangerous when there are countless documents that say otherwise that, by law, they had to make available to the public.

lol, kreed. Just remember, I am very firm when it comes to my opinion. I think smoking is a bad habit and should never had started. Plus just thinking of all the things in there, all of which can kill you when by themselves! What made me really mad was their project Sub-Culteral Urban Marketing, or project SCUM. It targeted gays and the homeless.

http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif Yes CK . The world is fill of wrongs , and I think it is great that you see them and don't overlook them like so many do . Just remember to stop and smell the roses once in awhile lest you reforget what you are fighting for .

I said both yes and no, cos I'm not sure if its about craziness, but rather simply about power and wealth. The tobacco company is powerful and influencial enough to effect any legislation against them. And they already have millions of people hooked on it, and many more each day.

What is crazy is that money and power are able to influence justice in this world. I'm sure the tobacco company can hire the best lawyers, and find the most loopholes or settlements.

Take care,
*hugs*

It's a good thing there are people like the members of the Truth organization.

I dunno, CK.
There's nothing like the drag of a cigarette after a hard day to "clear your head."

nothing like a dose of emphysema to boost your energy levels either http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Sorry, living with FIL is a difficult experience - he chainsmokes roll your owns, has a form of emphysema and still maintains smoking never did him any harm.

Yes, CK, this is a crazy world, but it's not just evident in only cigarettes. Just look at life in general: more funding goes to the school districts that are doing well, instead of the ones that aren't passing the state exams. Meanwhile, it costs more to go to a public school than a private school (at least back home that is the case, so please don't barge down my throat saying otherwise). Until a few months ago, Sudafed was an illegal drug for athletes because it contained a very small amount of a stimulant (which led to a Russian gymnast losing her all-around gold medal a few years ago at the Olympics). Light is a wave but it doesn't act like a wave... there are many things that don't seem to make sense but they are just there.
Now I am not meaning to make anyone angry or upset by my statements. I've seen a majority of those ads on tv and such, so I already know them. Yes, it is perplexing on how all of that worlds. My grandmother is a smoker and now she has diabetes and she can't quit. Where I worked over the summer, I was one of the two workers in there who didn't smoke, so trying to breathe in there was very hard and bad. But unfortunately, it's life, and it's pretty darn crazy and insane.
So, are you doing this for a school report since you are in dire need of votes? Just wondering.

You're a smart youngman CK, and you're going places. Here have a cigar.

My grandfather was a smoker, but not a heavy one. He smoked menthols. He lived to be 98 without any tobacco related health issues. He also drank a glass of brandy every night before he went to bed.

Moderation in all things. Too much of anything can kill you.

Something else must be kept in mind, everyone does not react the same to the same things. Some can eat as much as they want and not gain a pound. Others so much as look at food and gain several pounds. Plus, be very careful frowning on something someone else does, they may be frowning back at what you are doing.

I am part of the eating thing. Of course, it's just because I'm still growing, now isn't it?
