a problem downloading scpt demo (authentication required)

well i'd downloaded 30% of the scpt demo so far, using Download Acceleration Plus. i paused. then when i tried to continue, i got a message "authentication required". what the heck is that? and what should i do?

It depends where you were downloading from. In some cases when you have to wait in line and then download, if after that you pause the download and try to resume it later on it wont work, because you have to go back in line and wait for your turn, hence it gives you the authentication required. Or maybe if you were downloading from a site where you have a username and password, so when you logged off and after a while decided to resume the download again it needed to authenticate it.

i was downloading directly from the official site (i think it's ubisoft's ftp server or something) oh and i wanna add that it's so freaking sloooow....!

Try another site. By now, Gamespot, Fileplanet, FileShack, 3dgamers and Gamershell all have the demo for download.

i don't know....i don't have broadband. and i've got 50 mb (it took 6 hours!) downloaded already from ubisoft server. maybe i will just wait till the game's released...sigh....oh well
