Is the Patch worth it!

I have the original boxed version of the game [1.0] generally the game runs fine, are the patches worth the risk of messing things up completely and if so which version should i install first.

OH just wondering if any of you guys know how to run scanreg in windows xp! I am pretty sure it can be done but i forgot how.

Patches don't mess up. Definitely worth it to me.

I would highly recommend you skip the patches and get the Aces Expansion pack. That will bring you up to Version 2.0 and then you willl be ready for the upcoming patch. Without the AEP Ver. 1.22 is as high as you will be able to go I believe....

I just purchased the IL2 plus the Ace expansion pack, Installed with no problem. I made a BOO BOO and had to delete the whole program. Now I can't reinsall the AceExpansion pack. I'm real new at IL2 and need lots of help. I'm running Windows XP and I think I have everything needed for this (game?)
