That is one thing I never did before I entered the cave. Did I miss something, because it never required me to complete that.

the Research Facillity is the the next map. so walking through the exit completes the objective

youll need to take a lift in the caves.. not jus alk around randomly.. then walkup to a door and you're done
tho if theres a problem at the start of the caves you do have to get a key card in a hut outside thhe caves mkay
