ubi, I hate to tell you, but if I wanted to play Rogue Spear, I wouldn't have bought Raven Shield.
This patch is a severe downgrade in the quality of gameplay. After years of playing Rogue Spear, it took me awhile to get used to the gameplay of Raven Shield. After that came, I tried playing Rogue Spear only to find out that I liked Raven Shield's play a hell of a lot better. Now, to see a patch come out months after the full release of the game that makes firing a weapon (the most important part of the game) exactly the same as it was in Rogue Spear seems fatuous. Yes, the patch did fix a couple of important bugs and its release shows that ubi is still putting forth effort to try to improve gameplay. But to say that a fix was being made for bullet lag and to get the hopes up of all the idiots that still believe this is possible?
Absolutely rediculous.
The people that have played first-person shooters online for a long time know that lag can be one of the consequences of playing against people across the Internet. This is why there is a favorites list option in Raven Shield, so you can flag the servers that you have a good connection to. This is also why there are seperate servers for those dirty Euros (hehe). I am more upset about the seemingly blatent lie to the online gaming community than the worsening of the gameplay.
If it is not remedied quickly, this patch is going to do a lot more harm to Raven Shield and ubi than most people think. A bug-filled game with crappy update after crappy update is enough for a lot of people, like myself, to find a smooth-running game that doesn't require a new patch every month.
Also, there are some broke-assed people that play this game that can't spring $30 a month for a connection. These are the people who are not only ruining it for people while they play the game (warping across screen, lagging out, etc.), but now since the 1.4 patch, they are ruining while not playing the game (whining about trigger lag and forcing bad patches to be released). I say these people should get <really bad word> jobs and at least quasi-high speed connections or start learning how to play Spades. The fact that ubi is accomodating the lesser fortunate AMD Duron users with 56gay connections in Antarctica who complain that their bullets don't shoot right away gives me a huge warm spot in my heart, but for us who play the game as a release from the formentioned people of the world, THIS PATCH SUCKS!
In summary, fix Raven Shield plz thx.

PS - I hope you are getting a spiff for each of the BF1942 and Warcraft III copies you are forcing people to buy.
