i export my map to engine and then in console ingame i type \map operation congo and nothing happens...i tried /map also still nothing. anyone know how to fix this?

You have never used Shells or DOS much? http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Adding a blank in your map name is asking for trouble. I'd suggest you name your map "Operation_Congo" instead and the load it via
\map Operation_Congo.

You may be lucky though that using quotes with \map will work: \map "operation congo".

While we're on this topic... does anyone know the character limit for map names? This would be good to know.

If there is a character limit it is probably something like 255, but who is really going to have a map name that long? http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

Over at Quake3Arena mapping I still use 8 char map names just to be sure, i.e. aearena, aepyra, aeneon and the like... probably superstition and for a modern game like Far Cry no longer a limit in any way.
