I have just tried doing the Volcano level about 9999999 times. I actually believe its impossible. How do you do it?

Theres about a million trigens with rocket launchers and the other trigens that jump around they have the best accuracy in the world.

Do you have to kill them or can you run away? Where do you run to?

Thanks

Hi

It can be done without doing this, but in the armoury just before you go through those double blast doors you will see a couple of chairs. Use those to stop the first door from shutting and locking when you open the second one, then you can get the health packs and extra ammo. Then use sniper rifle to kill jumping Trigens and heavy machine gun on the fatboys. Yes you do need to kill them all really, though you can run from the fatboys if you wanted I guess to, though not the first couple.

I ran in and out of the big doors where ya start. When the Trigens open the doors, or when they are close and you open the doors, take one out with the Para. I killed all the ones that are close that way.

Think it's the same thing that Huntsman32 is talking about.

Great first post. I see you'll be a welcome addition to our little community. Shouldn't there be a "W" in your nick?

Well, if you dont feel like jamming the door i sugguest taking out as many of the jumping assault trigens with your OCIW rockets before killing the larger ones...

Specifically, open the door and look to the right... on the one station there is the first out of 4 assualt rifled dudes. To make your OCIW reach him try a combination of running and adjusting your aim (the rockets fly forward when your moving but strangly arc when your immobile)... it is key you take him out while he's up there and then you head down the left side... You should be able to take out the assault on that station in the same manner... and if your lucky you can kill the third on the ground...

After that it opens you up a bit (as the heavies are pretty inaccurate with thier missiles if you strafe and run in the right combo) If you take out one or two with your machine gun your on the right track. If you get lucky you can trick them to fall into lava or if theres a couple left try hitting them with a few rockets from the rocket launcer the soften them up and head in for the kill.

I suggust taking out the large heavy near the 2nd station mentioned and heading across the middle. Do as much damage as you can... Use cover appropriately too and try to make it up to the switch... You could enter with one or two heavies left and use that door as cover but it could get you hurt...

Thats how i did it after 9999999 tries, but hey just try to be resourceful and strategic and less headon rushing the first heavy you see with a minigun and itll spell out.

Also a good option is CryVision and the sniper rifle to kill the little jumping bastards. That worked for me. As Ed said, the big ones are not accurate and easy prey once you kill the jumpers. (This was on medium, still playing at challenging, maybe I'll need the chair trick then.)

Please correct me if I am wrong about the level, but as far as I can tell, this level is where you start out having just come through the massive gate/wall, which has 2 firing stations upstairs, and an armory on the ground level over to the left, and a Cyclone fence with gate...
On the other side of the gate is where the auto-save kicks in, and you are there with a nice new Buggy.
I tell ya, what worked for me was to head back through the gate, and up the stairs part way to get the rocket launcher. This is good for softening up one of the FatBoys up on the farthest hill you can see with max zoom.
Ditch the empty launcher, grab the Jackhammer 12 gauge from the armoury, and get in the buggy for the ride of a lifetime!
Now, ease on down the broken bridge and up the small hill to the left, and floor it--
Just past the first boulder on the right (which has a FatBoy somewhere behind it) you need to jam a hard right turn, basically following the green grass pathway, but you need to hit the bank going fairly fast to carry you over the lava, and to blow past Mr FatBoy.
Once across the lava flow, veer to the left, and go on up the hill staying on the ridgeline.
NOTE: aside from the 4 rockets, you have not yet fired a shot!
Nearing the top of the incline, there will be that FatBoy you softened up with the rockets earlier. A few bursts from the .50 should drop him without having to ditch the Buggy.
You NEED the Buggy!
Just beyond the recently dispatched FatBoy, on the right, is what appears to be some boulders forming what might be a rock-bridge... It is incomplete, and I found no other way across, and was not able to jump it using Jacks legs alone.
Launch the buggy at the boulder-bridge, and immediately ditch it once you land on the other side-- it would help to have the Jackhammer ready and fully loaded at this point.
Reception commitee consists of a FatBoy, and a couple of armored mercs who seem to have problems of their own... The rest is fairly straight forward I think.
Summary: blaze right through the whole battlefield, and RUN the rest of the way.

Hope this helps--

Cheers
