I found the small plank bridge used in the carrier level to make the suspended bridge. when i added it to my level it doesnot have physics, i looked through the properties but could not find it.

If you addd it as a brush it wont, if you add it as an entity then it will have physics

how do you add it as an entity? i just drag it onto the screen?

You take it from the entity folder. Only entities have physical properties, however you can also physicalise objects from the simple entities folder by checking the "rigidbody" box in its properties. You can then define its mass, etc. There's a neat trick you can do with physicalised objects described on page 50/51 of the manual, regarding impulse, which should help you get the idea ;D.
