Hello All,
After doing some investigation, I have some answers to some questions that have come-about on the forums. Please see below:
Q: What is the Operative SDK and what does it do?
A: The Operative SDK will allow a user to modify three features of the Rainbow Six operatives (the single player AI controlled teammates). These three features are:
1. Modify the SKINS of the operative (i.e. the uniforms/outfits/costumes)
2. The DESCRIPTION of the operative such as their history, birthplace, nationality, etc.
3. The STATS of the operative such as their stealth, accuracy, etc. (this is your chance to create that 'uber operative' that you have always wanted /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif )
Q: Will saved games be deleted?
A: Saved games WILL NOT be deleted due to the fact that they will use the same file format as before the patch.
More information as I get it.

What about the tangos? When will we be able to change the tangos??
I assume that we will have to wait for the full sdk.
Thanks

thanks for the heads up BT, however can ya find out if they will release the SDK for making weapons next rather then the pretty much useless operative SDK that most of the modding community could care less about?

All it allows you to do is change skins, no models.
Basically what you do is make a texture (skin), and put it in package X, and name the texture Xskin (you can pick any name and any package name, they don't have to be X or Xskin, these are just examples).
Then in the map's ini file change it to:
SkinsPerGameTypes=(package=R6Game,type=R6TeamDeath MatchGame,greenPackage=X,green=XSkin,redPackage=R6 Characters,red=R6RainbowMediumDesertCamo)
And green team will wear your skin, and red will wear the DesertCamo skin.

That doesn't have anything to do with the attribute or history modifying capabilities of the SDK...
Which are what I'm interested in, not the camo.

Do you know if the skins will download like maps atlantis? New skins sounds like fun to me. Instead of just armpatchs clans could have entire uniforms, like rugby teams.

Wat do u use to make those textures?

Extract one of the skin textures in the game (such as in the R6Characters package, the R6MediumDesertCamo texture).
Then just open the extracted texture in PhotoShop and change it however you like, or make a new one (just keep the texture in the same format), save it (as a .bmp or .dds), then import it in the texture browser in UnrealEd and put it in package X, and name the texture Xskin (you can pick any name and any package name, they don't have to be X or Xskin, these are just examples).
Then in the whatever map you want to change the MP Skins for, change the SkinsPerGameTypes line in the map's ini file to this:
SkinsPerGameTypes=(package=R6Game,type=R6TeamDeath MatchGame,greenPackage=X,green=XSkin,redPackage=R6 Characters,red=R6RainbowMediumDesertCamo)
And green team will wear your skin, and red will wear the DesertCamo skin.
I dunno if the skins will transfer like maps though. However, they are not like armpatches, the entire team is the same skin, you can't pick a different one.

Bullettooth, you stated in this very thread that the Operative SDK would allow us to change operative's stats. Did you just make that up, or were you fed false information? I'm fairly sure that it is not in there, as someone would have found it by now.

To win any confrontation, you need three things. You need the proper equipment, the proper training, and an edge over your opponent. Most of the time, your training is that edge.
