I'm wondering if the modders can offer some suggestions about making a map for doing cut scenes.(There's not a lot of traffic in the movie making forum)
What i want to do is make a movie using the cut scene editor and it occured to me that i can make very small maps and only the objects/characters in that particular scene, in order to get better quality video.
I orginally envisioned making an island with all the sets on it at difference locations, a sort of hodge podge if you will.
My questions are these.
1)Will i gain much in the way of performance by making a map of say, just one hut?
2)Does the cutscene when playing suffer the same FPS challenges as when in the game?
3)Can you offer me any tips on getting the best quality recording considering the differences between making games and making movies?

whenever i have wanted to record any game footage I have used Fraps. Not sure what it is like now but when i used it about a year ago the game had to be run at 640x480 and it used a LOT of diskspace as the video was not compressed in any way when written to disk.
