So.. i start my game... the screen turns black.. and i hear the background music.. and thats about what happens, HELP!!!

I have a:

ATI Radeon 9600 XT 256 mb â¨
Asrock P4i5D mother board
2,0 ghz Intel Celeron processor OCed to 2,5
Soundblaster 5.1
1024 mb DDR RAM 200mhz 2700
Windows XP pro
etc etc

Please help me, cause i have the same problem with halo and HL and im PISSED >http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

Hi,

The first demo ran very nicely on my PC, no problems at all.

I downloaded the 2nd demo from Fileplanet and installed (using the PGP password from the Fileplanet site to open the zip file).

It installed fine, and once loaded I left the settings at recommended.

When I try to launch a demo game, I see the new FarCry loading progress screen, but it stops every time at 95%ish.

This is a fatal freeze, and I have to reboot.

I have tried reinstalling with no result, however the first demo STILL runs perfectly.

My system:
ASUS A78NX Deluxe nForce2 rev1002.a
TwinMOS 512MB DDR PC3200 x 2 (1 GB)
AMD Athlon "Barton" XP2500+ 333FSB
Windows XP Home (SP1)
AIW 9800SE Softmodded to AIW 9800Pro (www.ocfaq.com (http://www.ocfaq.com))
Driver 6.14.10.6404
DirectX 9.0b (4.06.0000.0902)

If it makes any difference I am in the UK... have read some posts about PCGamer being a bit precious with their "exclusive" demo, could this be a crippled US only demo??

Anyone else have this problem?

Nah, i got it to work, i finished the research demo.

I had the same problem. Almost finishes loading then freezes.

To solve this problem just make sure you havent got FSAA or Anisotropic filtering enabled in the drivers under direct3d (set them to application preference) and make sure you have Antialiasing set to none in the game options.

The game did exactly the same for me too. This sorted the problem. Runs great now

How did you get it to go cause I have a similar spec to you and have exactly the same problem.

i have same problem to....i install....i start game....end when having 97 % it freezes......what to do

AMD 2600+
GFX 5600
Kingston 512 DDR pc3200
Kt6 mainboaurd.
...please someone tell me what to do
