I have the Creative Geforce 2GTS (or Called Annihilator) graphics card, I can play the game with all the setting on high but the water in the game is not reflecting its surroundings like I saw in screenshots. I use the latest NVIDIA detonator driver (since it's newer than the one from Creative specifically for the card, which dates from may 2003). Anyone can give me any info on this problem? thanks!

Hello Nico_Sels and welcome to the URU forum.
The reflective effect you are missing is based on Pixel Shaders. The Geforce 2 line of cards where not capable of this effect. Only Nvidia cards of the Geforce 3 flavor and above are capable of this effect.

Have a look at this page for a more in depth look at Pixel Sharders.

I hope this has answered your question. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

You don't happen to know if upgrading my graphics card is a good idea, when my computer is but a Pentium 3, 850 MHz with 256mb ram?

btw, thanx for the quick response! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

upgrading your graphics card quite often goves an enourmous boost to your performance, switch to something like a 9600XT if your on a budget or a 9800XT if your not and youll notice a huge difference in performance, btw if you get 9800XT youll start to find that your CPU speed will mean very little http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

playing online as )efault

and no Im not on 56k Im just from Australia http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

What Nagrikshamish says is all true although you may want to increase your RAM to at least 512. Take your system specs to your local PC store and they should be able to help you with an upgrade path.

It does always come down to the all mighty dollar and how many of them you have.

Glad I could help.
