How do you control the X-45s seemingly incurable tendency to pitch upwards?? If I take my hand off the stick it will make a perfect loop within seconds.. this is ridiculous. Maybe it's the stick, maybe it's the game or maybe it's me, but this has to stop!!

Calibrate the stick. It shouldn't pitch like that.

yeah, calibrate the stick, it should fix this issue. I've never have had any problems with the pitch. knock on wood... http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

also, if you fly the russian planes it might be a trim issue, I've had a lot of those before I understood the trim... http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Through trial-and-error I finally configured the key commands, but stick calibration I have yet to do, how do you adjust the pitch??

This is done in Windows, not in lomac. Click Start - Control Panel - Gaming Devices (or something like that, I'm on a swedish WinXP here... http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

But anyway, highlight your controller and click on Properties, or whatever the button below the list of controllers is called. There you have the ability to calibrate your stick.

I also think that Saitek has a shortcut through the joystick icon in the taskbar to get to this place. Try right-clicking the icon and check out the different options. Take note that this icon is only present if you choosed the 'Advanced' button in the saitek driver install.

What do people think of the Saitek X45? I was thinking about giving sims a shot and it seems like the choice is the Saitek or the 300$ CH system. Is there any significant difference between them?

Mostly cosmetic I think, and the fact that the x45 is made in plastic. Haven't programmed an Cougar, so I can't say which one is better at that, but I think they're pretty equal in what they can and can't do.

I've got the x45 and are very satisfied. A great stick, and not too expensive.

Thanks, never knew about the XP calibration before. But now after 'calibration' the rudder is flittering back-and-forth. I have the rudder on Rotary 2, I don't seem to have the ability to calibrate it and the XP Rotary adjustment did nothing. How do you guys have your rudder set??

I use the rudder for rudder... http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif the black big button on the back of the throttle. I have it mapped ingame as rudder, that's all.

But if you got the driver install right you should be able to calibrate all the axes, ie stick, throttle, rudder and both rotary knobs.

About the flickering; Yes, I have this too, but not that much. I just set a litte deadzone and that makes the problem go away, at least for me.

Wazp,

My rudder is supposedly calibrated to the 'rudder' as well as in the Profile Editor, yet when I go in-game to options it says it's calibrated to Rotator 2 and when I try to assign different options I only have the following options:

Axix 0
Axis 1
Slider 0
Rotator 2
Slider 1
Rotator0

I see nothing about the Rudder is 'slider' a misnomer for the rudder??

choose Rudder in lomac options, and click the "change"-button at the top of the page, and press down the rudder. Might have to press to both left and right for lomac to recognize it, I think I had to press it to the right.

Thanks Wazp, you're quite the expert! rudder seems fixed now, even though it says it's calibrated to Rotator 2, perhaps that's just Lomacs terminology for the rudder.

yeah, now that you mention it I think that I have the same, and the real rotarys are rotary 0 and slider 1... but as long as it works... http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

You might want to set up a little deadzone, and smoothen out the axis in lomac options, otherwise you could get full rudder while holding it just a little pressed. This is done using the three sliders to the right in options.

I have both axis set with:

Shift- vector line grounded in the lower-Left and upper-Right-upper corners.

D-Zone- about 7/8 mm(on the monitor)

Curve- slightly, shifted one digit to the Left
