I have the cat 4.4's on this new system I just built, AMD 2500+, asus A7n8x-E, ATI Radeon 9800 Pro, I just got the game and after training when I finally go out to the island, I get 30 FPS, its aweful. Even at Medium I will get drops down to 30-20 fps.

Turn Shadows to medium (you'll take a BIG hit at anything above medium) and turn AA OFF ...but everything else can be kept to very high...and set res to 1048x768 or something like that...You should be teflon smooth at these settings.

yeah, setting down the resolution from 1600 will help a lot, and the shadow thingy too, other than that the water quality doesnt need to be on ultra high, as it isnt really that mush u are going to bee looking at the water anyways.

my frames went up when i lowered the water quality.

If you have a barton and a FSB400 mainboard you can set the ram manualy to 400 and it will show up as a 3200 right now you are running 333 ram settings, i have had mine this way for 2 monthes no problem - you need 400mhz ram to do this though...... some newer bartons wont do it but its worth a try http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Gigabyte GA-7N400-L
AMD barton 2500 @3200
Audigy 2
Ati 9800 pro
1024 ddr 400 ram

If you add another 512 MB's of RAM booker, you're looking at very high across the board, and probably 4xAA and 8xAF. Otherwise medium.

you mean i need 1024 RAM to play this game on High?

i play only at 1024x768 and maybe setting shadows LoW will be enough to play the rest on High, and stay with 512mb instead. What u think?

I{m already getting 256 more ram to a total of 512 and a new vid card a Ati Radeon 9800 Pro, i canâ´t spend more money but i want to be worht the upgrade at the same time.

Booker21:

The higher the settings, the more ram you will need. Even with the 9800Pro you will probably want to stay in the Medium/High range (medium on lights and shadows). Whiskey is right about the extra ram. You'll need a gig to run on high across the board. Less than that, and you'll be hitting the paging file on a regular basis.

ohh ok...but i will be able to play
all high
shadows and lighing medium

1024x768 no AA or AF at all.

Iâ´ll be able to run this?
iâ´m happy with over 25+ FPS and i can live with some paging (not every 4 steps, but iâ´m not picky on that).

So...it will be posible for my (new, 512mb 333mhz and 9800pro) setup?
