Stuck on the Control level

If anyone can help, I am stuck on the control level when you get to the lab. There is a doorway up to the right which leads to the kitchen. If you take that there are some mercs fighting about 6 trigans and a man trigan. As soon as they finishing fighting they rush you and you don't stand a chance. Any ideas???

To get to this figth you have to go down a cooridor and then turn left correct?

They way I've done it was to stay in the cooridor untill the fight is over and when you see the first trigen, huck a couple grenades and fall back using the shotgun. Seems to work well for me.

Or, I've also rushed up in the fight and killed the mercs and grabbed the mounted minigun and wailed away with it.

Kill the guy on the mounted gun then just fire away, unlimited ammo, aim for the head of the giant Trigen (once you kill the little ones) and he doesn't last long.

However, after that bit what's the best way to kill the grenade launcher Trigen after you swim thru the vent?

There is an air vent before that bit. It is on the right in the shadows. Shoot the vent out and follow the vent. This takes you to above the Trigen where you can quite happily blast them away without any of them attacking you. Then go back down and swim through.

yeah i went up and blasted them away... i wish i had a picture of the results.. some of them i didnt even shoot, but they tried jmuping at me.. bashed theiur head on a pipe and fell inth the small pool of water, creating a mountain by yhr end, so when one landed it could just get up off the bodies and try again http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Now realised what my problem was.
I had tried going up the vent first ages ago but I thought it was a part of the map I couldn't go up as my player just stops dead and appears to be weapon switching all the time.
I had another go and eventually got around the invisible obsticle.
It happened again after I cleared the outside (after the pool bit) and went up that massive tower ladder. I had to fall down and start again before I could get up. Very odd.
Anyway after that bit I use the handglider down to the burnt out humvee, then I run out of ammo!
