most hype, halo2 or ps2?

i remember ps2 had the hype ever out of all the consoles. people were talking about how great it was going to be for years. even more so than people are talking about xbox2 and ps3. but halo 2 is now pretty much at that same hype level. this is just a simple poll thread but please leave remarks if you want. im going to go with ps2 but halo 2 isnt far behind.

ps2, i havnt heard much hype about Halo 2 actually. then again, im not a Halo fan, and i am a PS2 fan, so maybe i wouldnt know?

i am not comparing a console to a game. i am comparing the overall hype to it.

Chill out dude! He don't compare a console to a game. He compares a used-to-be hype for PS2 and a hype for Halo 2. I know, we can't compare a console to a game, but we can always compare hypes associating to both of them. It doesn't matter how different it is between a console and a game, a hype is always equal to a hype.

because even though i think xbox is better than ps2 ps2 had alot more hype to it. alot of poeple would say i am wrong but halo 2 has more hype than hl2. the overall hype of halo 2 now reminds me of ps2. that is why i compare them. eventhough no connection can be drawn between the two. but that isnt the point is it? the point is just in hype. not game play or graphics or anything like that. just hype.

if you define hype by the sheer number of people which are routing for it and the publicity it gets, then halo 2 has that edge over Half-Life 2, but only just

but when it comes to hype as in how exceited a single individual is, then Half-Life 2 has the edge cos it has been in developement since 98 (longer than Halo was in developement for) and the fans of the first one are just wetting their pants (i, for one, am)

true. so in that case if you are refering to it that way then i am talking about sheer # of people and how much you are itching to get ahold of it. factor in both of though and say what you think from the overall persepitive of everyones veiw

I would say that hype is a combination of both of them. For an example, if a sequel for Monkey Island series is to be announced, I'll probably hype it as hell, but it maybe just me. Would you still call it a hype? I don't think so, as not many people will hype it.

I am chilled. But this is a stupid thread. It doesn't make sense to compare the hype of a console to that of a game. Naturally the ps2 had more hype. There were more people waiting for it. It is a console. Meanwhile, the only people who are hyped for halo 2 are the xbox gamers, the ones who play it. There is a big difference. You should compare the hypes of games, not a console to a game, that is absolutely ridiculous.

i meant add the single person hype with the rest of the people who are just as hyped, rather than an all round hype that ranges form the "DAMN I CANT WAIT FOR THIS GAME!" to the "i like this game and will buy it definatly"

i think it should be rounded because like rathiez said only xbox gamers are like omg but if you round it then it is one is same level.
