I first started with Movie Maker 2 (like most have), then moved up to Studio 9, which is a great, easy program... but likes to lock up alot...

so since I'm getting into bigger and better video's now, thought it was time to move up in editing software...

so my question, for my fellow movie editors out there, what's your perfered software?
I was looking into the Sony Vegas 5, is that as good as the web site claims it is?
For the cost...how much extras come with it? ie: graphic effects, speed effects, sound effects... or do you have to buy a TON of other extras to get the effects you want like with Liquid Edition 5.5?

thx for your time.

Vegas 5.0 is the software that i use, and i love it. It's got tons of features, effects, audio capabilities and so on. I've seen that it has also been awarded "editing software of the year". Don't quite remember where i saw that though. But i would recommend Vegas 5.0, for it's ease of use and it's very powerfull features.

I was using MainActor, but now I use Vegas 5. It's the best out there right now.
