using the igor editor, is there a way to make the enemy have more of a shooting distance or something. when i place an enemy a give him alertness and change his combat roe to supress and make paths and stuff they dont shoot me until im about 5 feet in front of me. how do i make it so they detect me from further distances

Use alertness:combat, CROE:supress.
If you're like 150 meter away the may not spot you. Change the spotting-distance in the ENV file. If you do that make sure you change the clipping-distance also, and the fog. This because they will see you before you see them.
Remember changing the spot.-dist. will make all AI see further (even guys with pistols will see and shoot you).
There's a Igor command for changing spot.-dist. in script too.
Other way is to give them a cover plan too, aimed at where you would come from.

or you could give ur soldiers bright pink uniforms and then they will spot you a mile off lol
