Try cleaning the drivers complately not only uninstalling them:

Uninstall drivers in Windows Control Panel, the drivers and the control panel for these, sometimes they are seperate.

Reboot.

Use
cleaner (http://www.driverheaven.net/cleaner) program to remove all refrences and files drivers left. You can use other cleaners too.

Reboot.

Install drivers of your choice.
The part about the driver control panel is for ATI don't recall if nvidia has them, as I told you earlier I have seen the light and changed to ATI a long time ago. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/11.gif

well Nvidia uses unified driver so its the same anyway
SO I just reinstalled RvS and now it has nice framerate but GPFs or BSODs me I am stumped

Did you try doing the cleanup even if it is the same drivers, it might work.
Else:
Can you post the GPF txt or the BSOD txt.
If the BSOD isn't visable long enough do this:
Go to System Properties (Control Panel or right-click on My Computer --> Properties )
Then select the Advanced tab --> Startup and .... (3rd section/button down) --> Settings.
Look for System Error and Restart Automaticly, and untich that option, this will make the blue screen stay until you restart.
Then write down what the main title of blue screen page is, and teh STOP code.

yeah I have DC3 so NP there. but it seems to have stabilized the errors but still gettin at least 20 FPS lower on Identical settings/Map
Ti4200 128 vs FX5600XT 256 tjat doesn make any sense all the drivers are correct
seems like a waste of $200 for a 20FPS loss??

Really sorry was a little hasty with the URL, will fix link now, really sorry.... http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/35.gif
Had it copied from a previous post I had made where the link was not used because another solution presented it self (have fixed it in that post too)

yeah I have tried the tweaks tho I am really not sure on the Cache one 256 in all 3 places?
anyways I have been testin and configurin
and as it sits when I OC 10% I get the BSOD of Driver_Not_Less etcc
and an NV4.sys file error
now I KNOW the card DOES not have an eclusive IRQ it is shared with the USB to the best of my knowledge could THIS be my issue??(tho the old Ti 4200 would run like a Pip at 3.0 Ghz OC

Ya, if you do a search in the ini file you should find 3 occurances of the cashemegsize=
Not sure myself about the USB sharing an IRQ, that doesn't sound right and something tells me that it won't let you change it.
Anyone else know if this can be changed? In bios maybe?
Sorry I'm and ATI fan so the other errors don't strike any chords with me.
Good luck.

good just needed to make sure cuz was gettin a GPF involving the DARE at 10% OC and wondered if it may be cuz of to big a cache (256)
As far as BIOS goes I also put in a new slot of DDR (had 1 2700 1 3200) now I have 2 3200 tho the new one has CAS of 3.0 vs the others 2.5 not sure if that has somethin to do with the error when I OC but its says its runnin 1:1 at 200mhz so may be that it why is gettin unstable at higher speeds

I had to lock my RAM speeds at 5/4 or 320MHz in the BIOS to get it to OC properly, but it still runs at 400Mhz (x2) when I check in benchmark/system tools.
Also make sure that your AGP is locked at 66/33 in BIOS or I think the system will get unstable...

hey man, I had a similar problem. I use to have a ti4200 overclocked to 300 GPU and 600 mem, and it got great FPS. Then I bought a radeon 9800 pro, and my frames were worse also. I still can't pinpoint the exact cause. I did notice that something goes wrong sometimes when I start a map, and my frames are lousy for the whole match, but if I leave and come back, my frames are great again and have no problems. It seems to be ok now, and these are the things I did:
removed PCI RAID card
reinstalled windows w/ all latest patches
did NOT install any programs that I don't really need
moved sound card to 1st PCI slot next to the vid card (the rest are empty. This isn't necessarily the slot you should use- make sure the vid and sound aren't sharing the same IRQ.)
used newest video card drivers
when frames are unusually low, I leave and come back
If you are getting a low benchmark score tho, that's different from me. My benchmark was way higher with the new card (using 3dmark03). If you are benching lower- u have another problem.

I hear you should never use the pci slot next to the AGP because it shares an IRQ.
Hmmmm.... you might want to move it down one notch.

ya that's actually why I moved it closer- my IRQs are strange in this mobo. The slot next to it doesn't share the same IRQ, but rather the 2nd slot away is the same IRQ. My mobo is wierd.

I would never put my Sndcard in the slot next to AGP for practical reason: cooling. If I put it next to my card would be sandwhiched so thats not it may move it down to the bottom slot tho see if that helps
its a Gigabyte 8IG100MK 800FSB not like it cant handle it http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/354.gif

ya good point. do all the PCI slots perform the same (as long as you aren't sharing IRQs with video and sound)? I mean is there a particular order or something? I know quite a bit about computers, but I can't seem to find any info to answer that question.

well I know mine has 3(4 if ya count AGP) and the first one is being used. The AGP is usin IRQ 16 which is shared with my USB host Controller the older card never had any issues with it at all
oh 3Dmark score 2040

EUREAKA http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/crazy.gif I believ I have it licked'
1 card does NOT like to be in OC'd MoBo(10% OC and it dies on 3DMark03)
2 LOVE to be turned up itself(MSI version has built in clock adjust in lame adjustments from Private to Commander)
3 moved Snd card to PCI slot 3(bottom) got a friendlier IRQ so has no sharing
so I am FINALLY getting some NICE RvS framerates with the toys turned on 2x AA and Ansio I am gettin GREEN I tells YA GREEN!!! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/35.gif

sweet!! I'm glad u got yer framerates back- nothing is more irritating than sitting there with 30 FPS with a high performance rig.
Just an update- I been trying to tune my rig, and I thought anything I find might be useful to somebody out there reading this. I switched my sound card to 3 slots away from my AGP slot to enable better cooling, and made sure that they weren't sharing IRQ's, but my 3dmark03 score dropped a noticeable amount, so I put it back into the slot next to the AGP. I suppose I'll install a case fan in the side of the box so it blows directly at the vid card.
Another note- if u like to overclock, don't buy an XFX motherboard. My NF2S-ALH doesn't allow to change voltages, and even with the little bit of stable OCing I get, the 3dmark score is lower!! That board does have extremely good out-of-box performance tho compared to other mobos, if u aren't an overclocker.
